I start work at 6:30 AM as an opener, plus I am the lead. Whenever there is a snow storm, the determination to close the building doesn't come until after 7:00 AM. Effectively, that means that I have to come in to work regardless. Normally there are > 900 peeps in the building on a given day, but right now there are probably 50. We are expected to get as much as a foot (~.3 meters) accumulation before it all turns to rain and the roads get covered in ice. Our area gets so little snow, that everything shuts down at the sight of a single snow flake. OK, I'm done whining. |

awww...are you crying? heh. I feel your pain. I ended up coming to work on 2 days (last winter) where virtually noone else ended up showing up. Noone else ended up getting any kind of points for missing days... what do I get? Nothing. That's ok, that company is now a floundering mess of broken dreams and crying executives. |

I'm still here. I got to watch a FedEx truck spin its tires for 15 minutes. The snow is getting thicker. Looks like they aren't going to close the building. |

I guess you're seriously fucked. Even if it's mildly amusing, there are more exiting things to do than watch a fedex truck spin its wheels. |

Being lead just means that I do all the training, answer all their questions, handle any problems. Essentially it is a supervisor without hiring/firing responsibilites, or larger salary. |

Jesus Pig, so you get the "i hate him cos he's the boss" shit, but you don't get any perks out of it? (well, apart from being able to say you're not gonna do the dirty work hehe) How the hell did you land that job? |
