I looked into it and want to, but I never found out where to start. This is easy enough.

Acquire a program called FL Studio (aka Fruity Loops) and you can get started fairly easily. There should be a lot of tutorials out there for it. I played with it a bit before trying to move to Ableton Live... but I'm still trying to figure that thing out.
