We've had a little discussion about this in another thread, but this is so significant it warrants its own thread. Statuses: Tunisia: President gone Egypt: President gone Libya: Shit mayorly hitting the fan, excessive violence against protesters, Libyan ambassadors quitting their jobs. Bahrain, Yemen, Morocco: smaller disturbances. Good links: |

2 Libyan fighter pilots defected to Malta during a mission. (lol - maybe Ox's charisma had something to do with this). On a related note to Rinox: I guess that means we must update our intelligence on the Malta military capability. Add 2 Mirage fighter jets. Oh and by smaller disturbances, do you mean protest but no reform? Also, have those disturbances ended? Also: The British PM was the first leader to visit Egypt since the protests, obviously providing his own opinion on what course of action the government should take to ensure freedom, liberty, democracy and all those other fluffy words. |

Minor as in: some people on the streets , but not on Egypt / Tunisia levels. |

lol @ Maltese fighters. They expanded their airforce by, well...everything. I actually made a bet with a friend yesterday. I bet him that Khadafi would still be in Libya and in control by next Monday evening. He bet against it. Loser pays drinks on a bar night. It's a pretty risky bet given the situation, but Khadafi seems desperate enough to cling to power (and immediately cracks down with extreme violence) so I guess it's possible. His loyalist elite forces probably won't turn on him regardless of how bad it gets. |

Here's that image linked above, since imageshack isn't liking the hot linking. I wouldn't call Bahrain all that minor. Weren't they the ones that were opened fire upon by military forces as well? Carnage in Bahrain as the Military Opens Fire http://www.time.com/time/world/article/ ... 45,00.html That was 5 days ago... since then I think things have calmed down. Libya is obviously insane... aircraft strikes, snipers, death squads shooting at people. The incredible thing is that it hasn't ended... the people are fighting back. I read reports of seized military bases and weaponry, plus military units fighting among one another. There's a Libyan Navy ship of some sort off the coast of Malta.. some preliminary thoughts were that it might be looking to surrender, or maybe it's just trying to wait out the fighting or something. http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/afri ... ar-gaddafi Crazy times. BTW...those Amazonian guards.... HAWT |

Since the Libyan opposition is gaining ground by the day, the Great Leader is pursuing a musical career: |

24 hours from now and I'll be drinking on my buddy's expense Well, unless the Great Leader bails before that...but that doesn't look likely. |
