Danish jihad over cartoons
aight, dunno if you guys read this or not, but basically alot of Muslims are pissed off because of some cartoons a Danish dude made criticizing Islam/Muhammed. Pissed off to the point that these peace loving Muslim brothers of ours are threatening death to all Danes and similar drivel.
here's an article example, though there are many.
I have a few comments on this...
1. Isn't Islam (like Christianity) a religion that is supposed to teach brotherly love and tolerance? I'm not an expert on the religion, but that seems mildly familiar. How'd we get from being tolerant to threatening to kill people from a foreign country because one guy wrote a cartoon they don't like?
2. It's a freakin' cartoon! Are these people that unbalanced that they're willing to kill people based off of a cartoon they don't like? Sweet jesus..imagine if someone talked shit about their mothers. They might nuke Afghanistan.
3. We can't talk shit about their religion, but it's ok (upon penalty of death) for them to shit on freedom of speech. Yay! Of course, we know these guys lack any critical thinking skills, so blah.
Anyway, I collected the cartoons...they were difficult to acquire. If the copyright holder wants me to remove them, please let me know nicely and I'll definetely remove them rapidly. However, even though the Danish government may be getting a bit nervous, I think freedom of speech is more important than any hyped up, violent and mentally defunct religion

Doesn't surprise me at all. Just one reason that I think religion as it is is rubbish. I'm all for the 'good' side of people, and if believing in God/Muhammad/whoever gives you a reason to be nice to people, good for you. However plenty of people either take it too far (for example 'smiting' the unbelievers is often used as a good excuse for someone taking the piss out of your religion) or its just used as an excuse (it wasn't my fault, god made me do it!).

I'll smite you good!
Jees man, When will people learn to take a joke? I can understand them being offended, yes, but why don't they draw something instead of killing someone.
Fuckin' tards.

Yep its probably extremists. Tho I can slightly understand the people being pissed off and would understand if they asked for them to be removed.

yea...being offended, that's cool. Showing up in front of a UN building waving machine guns and grenade launchers is just retarded. Learn how diplomacy works, or figure out some other method other than killing the unbelievers. That's so middle ages.
Even Hamas is being a little smarter...they're just asking everyone muslim not to buy Danish goods. Still retarded, imo, but at least they're not calling for a jihad or anything retarded. I wonder if the people in the middle east realize they're just a laughing stock in most of the world for all the stupid militarism.

Racist? No. We make jokes about ourselves, our friends or random other people. That just includes muslims, and if you act retarded like muslims so often do, you make yourself an easy target.

1. Yes, but like christianity - there are fundamentalists to each religion. (KKK i think). These tend to be heavily delusional people.
2. It is just a cartoon. Free media is important for all society.
3. Considering that islam is blamed by many as being behind 9/11, i think the Danes should feel free to draw cartoons if they wish.

well, the Danish newspaper that printed the cartoon is run by a bunch of pussies. Either that or the government pressured them into apologizing.
Bah. Go freedom of speech.
