bloody hell... until last september i was only using a 60gig ffs! Now I combined that with my 120 to get a 180 total but my god thats insane.

Today, a 500GB drive costs us consumers about about $373. Lets assume EMC made a bulk purchase @ $300 each. That means the drives cost them $720k for each petabyte array. I think the price is about $1m too expensive. I dont think it would have cost many millions for R&D. Byt anyhoo, all prices are based fundamentally on what the consumer is willing to pay.
