Re: Good films..
I watched the recent Dune movie. I was a huge fan of the original 80s Dune movie, and I've read all the books by Frank Herbert in that series and loved those too. I wasn't expecting much from this movie, to be honest, but I ended up really liking it. The cinematography is actually really incredible. This is only the first half of the book and the movie ends in a questionable place. Still, I think it was great. I'm excited to see the next part. I really hope the movie does well enough for this to turn into a many-movie epic, but I suspect it won't. I really hope they don't end up cancelling the second movie. That would make me very, very sad.
The spice must flow!

Re: Good films..
Yup looking forward to watching the first part as well. Will probably not go to cinema to see it. I prefer to watch movies at home so I can contemplate on what I saw and not rush off when the movie ends.

Yup, that's fair. Especially in the world of Covid. Still, the cinematography is amazing. Most home cinemas won't do it justice. Go buy an OLED television.

Re: Good films..
What home cinema? I have a fairly average 32" monitor that doesn't do movies very well .

Re: Good films..
I can't say I'm a David Lynch fan.. I've never gone out of my way to see his movies, and have definitely only seen a smattering (apparently he's quite prolific). However, the same can be said for Philip K Dick (his stories, rather than his movies), but that certainly doesn't diminish my appreciation of the works that I've enjoyed.

Re: Good films..
I liked both the Lynch version and the TV series of Dune. Haven't seen the new one but probably will like that as well.
Watched Red Notice on Netflix. A bit too much CGI and the main cast underperforms. Not the worst but could've been better.

Re: Good films..
Ah, I'm actually a fan of all 3 of the main actors, so I was hoping it would be good. I haven't watched it yet, but will probably in the near future.
Speaking of Ryan Reynolds, have you see Free Guy? I actually liked the movie, though it was a bit silly at times.

Always like Ryan Reynolds! We've been keeping an eye on that, we'll definitely watch it when it pops up on Netflix

Re: Good films..
On netflix theres a movie 'The Rhythm Section'. I quite liked it and no its not a teen dance movie as the name would suggest. it's a rather dark spy/vengeance movie.

Re: Good films..
Twin Peaks has been on my radar for a very long time... however... I'm not sure I can get over how old it is. Perhaps eventually...
