Re: 2010 World Cup
I have NEVER been so ashamed to be an England fan. Ok, one disallowed goal but seriously, we let in 4 german goals. Bloody shocking. So much for unbeaten in red. My dad summed it up perfectly; in 60 years of watching football he said he has NEVER seen such a terrible England team. They may never qualify for world cup but I'm glad right now I always support Scotland first. At least they don't have such hopes pinned on them then perform so horribly.
So far it seems Arg v Mex is going to be just as one sided too.

Re: 2010 World Cup
Another incorrect decision in the Argentina Mexico game.
Jesus christ... Let's have replay decisions by the time we get to Brazil please!

Re: 2010 World Cup
Oh, and in the official summary of the game on FIFA.com the goal was totally absent. The page with the summary 404s now.

Re: 2010 World Cup
LOL Arathorn. That pic rocks. And yeah, what an incredibly awful call on that Lampard goal. Not to mention the ever-so-offside goal from Tevez. I mean, there wasn't even a keeper between him and the goal! He was the absolute last man, that rarely ever happens. Happens even less that such a goal isn't disallowed. It's probably for the best that Germany steamrolled over England in the end, I think there is little discussion that they were twice the team England were anyway. You could say that the 2-2 would have given the English a new impetus, but I dunno. I have rarely seen such shoddy defending at international level. Gash keeper, two slow and unwieldy central defenders and a second-rate right back. Cole is just about decent, nothing more. The young and swift Germans just kept running past Upson and co, it was embarassing. Oh and Rooney...overrated like hell. Good times with Derf on steam during the trashing by Germany.

Re: 2010 World Cup
Forgot to post this up...
We saw it during the group stages...
I took it while my older brother was driving me home... we saw it in the distance, stopped on the road beside it and laughed our asses off for a good 5 minutes...

Re: 2010 World Cup
Dutch defence off course... there were three or four chances that would have been sure goals with a Brazilian striker instead of a Slovak amateur.

Re: 2010 World Cup
Really enjoyed watching the Spain/Portugal match just now. Nicely, evenly matched teams that could have gone either way.

Re: 2010 World Cup
Good to see C. Ronaldo out of the tournament. Shame he didn't cry though.

Re: 2010 World Cup
I don't know what's worse. England doing what England do best (playing shit) or England fans travelling to SA to watch them in the first place.

Re: 2010 World Cup
Just a few more hours for our moment of truth. I predict a 3-1 win for Brazil.

Re: 2010 World Cup
haha, I dunno Arathorn, Holland has been getting everything 'just' right (luck and skill) so far, they may be in a sort of "anything is possible" mood right now and surprise. Even if their defense is full of slow douches (Heitinga). I'm hoping for a really painful and undeserved loss. Preferrably on penalties, with Van Persie and Heitinga missing.

Re: 2010 World Cup
Big night for Arathorn! I suppose the Dutch should be able to walk over a weakened Uruguay pretty easily, I don't think they'll make their classic "ah we'll win anyway" mistake this time. Spain or Germany is gonna be another matter though - especially Germany. Will be curious to see tonight, anyway.
