Most of you prolly know what this term is used for these days. During that show-event called the Super Bowl where before and after it, some people play a bit of american football ( ), Janet Jackson revealed her nipple, boob, whatever.
America is in shock, grammies and oscars will be broadcast with a bit of delay so that they could cut it out of anything like that would happen there.
My reaction to it is more like: "so what". For starters i can imagine that nobody would want to see michael jackson with boobs, but is america really so .., so .. ? In belgium a few years ago, some music group entertained people during break and they had a strip-act. In England there is not a single big event where the streakers remain abscent. A single boob (okay during the biggest sports event but come on). I already can imagine people are marching in front of that television network with slogans like "think of the children" and such.

Btw, it's also really stupid to give so much attention to it because now all has-beens or artists that aren't very succesful anymore (like Janet) will try to pull such a stunt.

I saw it on the news dunnowhen, but today i read in the paper that for this stupid stunt, the number of searches on the internet equals the searches they got for 9/11.
So media-wise speaking, this fact (Janet's boob)could be considered as big as 9/11 in america.

As far as the searches for 9/11 thing, I think the stats are wildly wrong. For one, 9/11 was the front page (and in some cases, the only page) on every online newspaper in the world. This maybe got a mention. So, whereas with 9/11 you just punch in cnn.com and get what you want, with this you have to search. Thus, as many searches.

I know when 9/11 happened I didn't do any searches. Just cnn.com, abcnews.com and slashdot for me. Funny when the best information came from slashdot.
