It is a good thing - the bars around here do close at 3-4am in Dallas, however we live outside of Dallas, and the bars there close at midnight. The issue this causes is people still wish to drink the drive to the vars in Dallas - drunk. However the bars stay open in Dallas to 4am - but they do stop serving drinks at 2 AM which at least gives people a couple hours to still party while sobering up.
