I think the makers just threw some SF elements together, named some things with mythological names, and then hoped that ppl would start seeing things and symbolism everywhere in the Matrix.

Oh for crying out bloody loud. You guys, I had to sit through about 10 minutes of her bloody doing this whilst we were waiting for the bus from the cinema to the train station. Bloody hell. Anyway, I think the main problem with the (she's at it again) third installment of the matrix, was the severe lack of all the 'thinking' parts. It was pretty much your average action film. Don't get me wrong, it was a good film, but no where near as good as the second.
I loved the machines attacking Zion scene, that was awesome, but the final battle between smith and anderson wasn't that good- to much friggin' flyin' about all over the place, and not enough Fighting. Though some of the water effects were cool.
You just know there is going to be a fourth installment, where the machines have "modified" neo, because you don't actually know if he is dead or not. It's just whether or not the machines will keep the peace treaty, or if they'll turn neo in to some ultimate killing machine and the humans will have to fight him off. (ha!)
Or maybe they could get neo alive again, he fetches trinity's body and gets that revived but she goes all nasty because she wanted to stay dead this time, and tries to kill neo. Wahey.
