I even like games were you went back in time and could use contemporary weapons (apart from some of your own). Undying had a level like that.

...ugly textures... wtf. Not that it all looks bad or anything, but damn, wasn't I just ranting about this kinda stuff? Some textures are just washed out and uninteresting.

The first real mission (after the tutorial) began by taking away the ability to move and forcing you to fight a specific way... I found that absolutely and completely irritating. However, after a bit you had freedom, so perhaps that was just for creative purposes. Or something. The game actually got fairly interesting afterward... running around, tearing shit up with time-appropriate weapons. Though I must admit, all the people I wasn't supposed to kill kinda ended up dead. :roll:

Anyway, I enjoyed it. This has the potential of being a lot of fun. Of course, it could end up sucking, too, so we'll have to see.

good
- The weapon reload system is pretty fucking cool
- I don't generally appreciate SciFi because it's so damn common, but the theme here is pretty genuine.
- Combat and shooting is generally quite fun. There was something orgasmic about mowing down simulation germans with a bolt action in training mode.
- Bringing up the map makes me smile. Works so well, although I never had to use it.

bad
- Graphics not entirely working yet. E.g. My AA didnt work. I can tell the game is geared to be prettier. Another problem is that the brightness is wrong in some places.
- Reloading the cannon is a bit silly. You can man a cannnon on your own and fire at about 20 rounds a minute just waiting.
- Walls dont seem to offer cover to enemy.

ugly
- Perhaps a tad too linear?

Conclusion
- Quite fun. The inevitable mashup of the mechanics means it was always going to be a linear title. Which isn't necessarily bad. I'm ok with linearity so long as the game is fun, and this seems to be the case. I feel it may be a little too linear for my tastes and I can smell a whiff of console in it. I think in the end, to play (buy) this game I would need the graphics to be fixed, the cannon to be fixed, alot of levels, and a price tag no more than £20.
