Hahaha you think? From a 10 year old system to a solid current-gen gaming system with a huge SSD. Can't fucking wait!! :)

I'll provide you guys with some pics once I have it in my possession.

lol. He's basically doing the upgrade I just did (without going quite as overboard). I'm still impressed by the shiny new graphics. Ryse: Son of Rome was a mediocre game, but man was it pretty.

Yeah, and I'm coming from a much worse place than Satis. His PC was like 5 years newer than mine. I'd be really surprised if I didn't see a difference hahaha.

More importantly, I've always held off playing the big games of this generation (like Witcher 3) out of fear of ruining the experience because of shit performance. No more excuses now!

XCOM2 almost brought my PC to its knees, playing on ultra low settings and dealing with loading screens of 2 minutes for average missions. NO MORE

So...new PC arrived today! Not exactly at a great time (Monday evening) for lots of shenanigans, but still, pretty stoked!! The only problem is that they forgot to order the RAM I wanted at the store, so they gave me some temporary RAM instead. You know, pretty meh stuff they use to build and test, and only 8 gig instead of 16. But I can live with it for now. :)

Some PC porn for you...yeah, I know the camera on my tablet is shit, and so is the lighting.

Will report back one I get it all hooked up and ready to go...may not do it tonight though, got a lot of shit to do. :-(

Post Re: PC crapped out
Hahaha thanks man

I already got it plugged in and installed some basics (writing you from it right now actually!) but yeah, I'll need more time to truly customize the shit out of it. Had some issues right at the beginning when I would keep getting BSODs, but they all seemed to be related to memory so I pulled out one of the RAM bars and it works fine now. So the shop gave me faulty RAM on loan. Typical. Well, I'm just running on 4 gig now, but whatever. This is all placeholder anyway. :)

I'm surprised by how quiet it is, and actually also how light the whole case + contents is. Guess we moved forward in that regard the last 10 years. Had a small "fuck's sake" moment when I realized my VGA to DVI cable is the wrong DVI type (DVI-I, the new PC only takes DVI-D, apart from HDMI and Displaport obviously), but then I realized I had a VGA to HDMI adapter lying around. Whew. Would have been seriously anticlimactic to be stopped by a 5 euro part. :P

It's gonna be a good weekend. :-D
