Post Cheap, safe drug kills most cancers
Interesting stuff!

[quote]Cheap, safe drug kills most cancers

What makes cancer cells different - and how to kill them

It sounds almost too good to be true: a cheap and simple drug that kills almost all cancers by switching off their “immortalityâ€

I know more than I want o know sometimes - my boss has terminal cancer so she has been in some very odd clinical trials trying to prolong her life. The current one seems to be some sort of herpes injections into the tumors, which somehow has had a 80% success rate at curing the cancer.

Weird Shiny...and sucks about your boss. :( Is she still working (being your boss and all)? Cos if I was terminal I'd sure as hell wouldn't spend time working anymore! Not trying to be mean to her but it's not as if you'd have to save a lot of money for later anymore, right?

well, if your life revolves around your work, what else would you do? Probably be bored and in pain waiting to die.

Mm, touché. Still, a life revolving around work is kinda sad. I mean working hard is good and all, but if you don't have the time to have fun then what's the fucking point?

I'm just hoping iwe're close to curing that particular malady. I mean, we've been pouring money into it for how long now? It's about time it stopped being a nuisance. Then I could smoke in peace.

I just hate it that you don't really have any control over cancer. You can try and avoid some diseases with a bit of luck, but cancer can happen any time to anyone. Which sucks. :(
