Yeah but he's an important part of the program. What would Jeremy Clarkson be if he couldn't diss Hamster every episode?

He was driving a jet car that was going over 300mph.... when you do stuff like that, you're definetely taking some chances. Anyway, good luck to him and all, but I'm getting a crocodile hunter flashback.

hate to tell you this, but the moment you pop your head out of your momma, you're dying. It's a slow, wasting sickness that has a 100% mortality rate.

Hehe...I hate it when people I know go like 'I wanna die when I'm 40/50'. Ignorant little fuckers...unless I'm suffering some unbearable painful condition I plan to live for all eternity. Too bad that's not an option - yet.

Oh and @ the Hammond guy: I hope he lives and will recover, but I can't say I feel sorry for him either. 450 km/h, wtf? He's lucky to even still be alive, acting the fool at that speed.

As you may conclude, I'm not a big speedster. I don't have the usual male fetish for cars either. :)

lol he wasn't exactly 'acting the fool' ox, it was a landspeed record attempt ;) But yes, he obviously knew what he was getting into. I certainly hope he's ok, he's the only decent presenter on top gear (well James May is kinda ok, just coz hes old and nerdy so you can laugh at him, but Clarksons a prick)

lol....hear hear on the living forever sentiment. Though I don't want to grow old. That's almost as bad as dying.

But anyway...err...yea. I have never seen that show and probably never will. However, I wish him the best of luck.

Pev, I consider trying to break a record like that 'acting the fool' too, hence my remark. I saw the show a few times and I loved him in Brainiac...very smooth dude. But trying to break landspeed records is probably one of the fastest highways to hell. :)

hehe its certainly not a smart thing to do, but my version of acting the fool would be "get homemade rocket, go to middle of nowhere with no back up and let it go", whereas it was actually go with safety team in (i assume) a decently set-up car, and travel to a safe place (Elvington airfield, not far from us actually! hehe)

Anyhoo apparently he woke up today, said "what happened" and managed to take his first steps too.
