Dell acquires Alienware
Yea, there were rumors bouncing around that were denied, but now it's official.

Dell has purchased alienware. Supposedly they'll remain separate entities, but we'll see. I'm glad I bought my laptop before this happened. It may be a good thing, but I have a funny feeling Dell is going to suck the life out of alienware.

This is bad news but I really dont care. Alienware was largely overpriced PC's and could be built much cheaper or purchased cheaper from other stores. Alienware was basiclly name only and I laugh at people who pay $3,000 for a $1600 machine.

Both sell overpriced systems, so I think they'll make a good match. They're also both companies I would never buy a computer from. I'ld rather build my own.

good luck building a laptop, ya nonbelieving bastards.
Anyway, I agree their desktop systems are overpriced. But for laptops (since those are OEM only) they're not bad at all.

heh as everyones already said, there'll be no difference. Both were stupidly overpriced system suppliers except Alienware would make random different cases to everyone else.

If it's up to nVidia, you would be able to build your own laptop in a few years time: http://www.thechannelinsider.com/articl ... 524,00.asp
