Post system of a down
I saw these guys recently in concert too. I'm a recent convert...I really dig this band. The concert was great...really good show. Lots of shiny things. :p

They also had 2 bands opening for them (as some shows tend to have).

Mars Volta: SUCK! Horrible. Spent the time sitting out by the beer dispensers. :P

Bad Acid Trip: I was expecting the worst. Actually, they're really really good. Surprisingly good. I think I may have found another band to like. :) Great stage show, too.

So anyway, some more bands for you people looking for new bands to listen to. :)

I dig System of a Down. Never heard them live though.

I saw the Butthole Surfers in concert, and they sucked worse than any band I have ever heard, live or canned (including the few seconds of torture I have endured from accidently landing on an easy listening station). I expected a lot because they good canned. Oh well.

At the same show, they had 3 bands opening for them. All of them rocked. Reverend Horton Heat, and Super Suckers are both great bands. I recommend them to anyone.

System of a Down is one of the best hardrock bands around at the moment. Their music is 'tight', hard to put it another way. Very bombastic but all great musicians, and a singer with an impressive voice too. It's one of those bands who're almost as good live as on record, or better they're just different live. Three thumbs up. They used to be a little too insane, heh. :)

Mars Volta...hahaha. Bunch of pseudo-intellectual acid junks with big hair. They're from Pasadena (iirc) and they were saying in an interview over here that they were so glad they got out of Texas, where'd they constantly get beat up by rednecks for being freaks. A lovely sight I'm sure.

lol@ Pig's story. Main act worst thing ever in music, three 'support' bands good.

EDIT: tîp from Rinox: The Dresden Dolls.

System rock, i've been a fan for a long time
Mesmerize is a classic album, cigaro rocks but my personal favourite is Violent Ponrography.
I've seen them in concert once at a festival which metalica were also at, so basically it was mint. System were awesome live.

Mars volta are indeed rubbish, never sen them live but i've seen a video on mtv2.

Alien Ant Farm were damn good live, so were Hundred Reasons.

Electric 6 however were wank, as were Blur...

well i saw electric 6 at leeds festival because i thought they might be pretty good, i mean gay bar was pretty funny and hadn't been out too long, but they were terrible really terrible...

if you want to start listening to Soad then i would suggest starting with the album Toxicity, as the self titled album will certainly scare you and mesmerize might just sound shit if you don't know what system are like. I wouldn't get the album Steal This Album! it's all their unreleased b-side tracks though, they're not that great...

Were you correcting my statement (everybody instead of everyone), or just freely expressing your own opinion on the matter? :)

in the spirit of the thread: I watched a repeat of Flogging Mole on the Werchter festival an hour ago, and it refreshed my memory on how good they are live...if you get the chance to see them I recommend them. It's always great fun. It's a sort of Irish folk/punk drinking music, good fun.

hehehe, crap. Just like me to fail to read between the lines. That's because I'm the pinnacle of manhood, I tell myself. Unless you state something in clear, non-dubious language I wil always fail to get the right message out of it.

Oh, the times I have failed to comply with a decent answer to such eternal questions as 'does my bum look big in this?' and 'do you think she's pretty?' (and the coup de grace: 'prettier than me?')

I swear, women are all master interrogators.

the trick about answering women's questions is realizing they're actually asking something else. Once you can reliably figure out what they're REALLY asking (and answering it properly) then you're good to go.

I certainly am not there. I don't think any man is.
