Eh i don`t understand what you`re saying
What i was saying is that Indian Tribes (native americans) have a certain independance from the state they`re situated in (there Resorts or what`s it called). Of course they fall under American law, but not under the state laws i think. I don`t know shit about american law and state law, i know it`s a bit complicated from previous things posted by Satis, so don`t expect me to explain this precise, i`m not the president of the US of A
Btw about all i know about Indian Resorts is that they have casino`s where you can gamble, but maybe this is overgeneralisation, since i got this from the Simpsons.

Tribes are souvern only so much as the US government allows them to be. It is really one of those catch 22 type of things. Yes we let them live on tax free land which we stole like everyone else did, and let them have casino's (I'm tired as hell and do not care if I am spelling correctly tonight - plus it is my Birthday so Blah - blah) but the people live live paupers on the land - like less tham welfare poor. At any rate I would not want to live in the shit holw areas they gave the tribal people around here. Crap all crap. What you think they are gonna give the good shiznitt away for free? Damn I'm tired does this even make sense?
Oh an Bush is an idiot we all knew it why can't we just umm get rid of him Texas style? lol

Damn...I wonder if they can make practical use of freaks like her. I hope it made her any cash, instead of just a lame record. And Shiny, why is the server closing down? Maintainance?

Tribal sovereignty in terms of Native Americans, is the power to make and live by our own laws, as our own independant authority. It has been partially implemented, but not to the satisfaction of many of us.

First of all, Bush isn`t the smartest person around, he`s famous for his `bush-ism` as in stupid remarks and comments.
But i don`t blame him for that, at least he doesn`t pretend to know everything, i just think it`s wrong that the people around him hadn`t briefed him about it, or given him some background given the fact that he was going to this congres where this `tribal sovernity` easily could be brought up, since it seems to me it is a big issue for Native Americans.
Btw this also seems a typical american term (or situation)to me, so you can`t expect me to fully explain it to you, i wouldn`t expact you to explain some typical belgian political thing either. i do however have a faint notion what it`s about, and i`m not on that congress.

I already figured what it meant by just the two words, and I'm not even American. Nor do I have indians around, heh. And in short: it's not so much that Bush as a person doesn't know it (everyone's free to be a moron), but in his function as president of the US it's disgraceful.
I never knew Pig had indian heritage. That's pretty cool. (or is a full-blooded indian, whatever)

Thanks Pig for the direct answer.
Btw, I have Cashada Indian blood in me as well.
Edit, The reporter did ask what Tribal Sovernity means in the 21st century and he answered the first part of the question with what he thought tribal sovernity meant.

This is the whole part of their little conversation (i think):
MARK TRAHANT: Most school kids learn about government in the context of city, county, state and federal, and of course, tribal governments are not part of that at all. Mr. President, you have been a governor and a president, so you have unique experience looking at it from two directions. What do you think tribal sovereignty means in the 21st century and how do we resolve conflicts between tribes and the federal and state governments?
GEORGE BUSH: Tribal sovereignty means that, it's sovereign. You're a -- you're a -- you have been given sovereignty and you're viewed as a sovereign entity.
MARK TRAHANT: Okay.
GEORGE BUSH: And therefore, the relationship between the federal government and tribes is one between sovereign entities. Now, the federal government has got a responsibility on matters like education and security to help. And health care. And it's a solemn duty. From this perspective, we must continue to uphold that duty. I think that one of the most promising areas of all is to help with economic development, and that means helping people understand what it means to start a business. That's why the Small Business Administration has increased loans. It means, obviously, encouraging capital flows, but none of that will happen unless the education systems flourish and are strong. That's why I told you, we spent $1.1 billion in reconstruction of Native American schools.

The servers shut down I guess to reload everything so it will not be so laggy - not like it is not very laggy anyway but also to frustrate those like me who again can not sleep and the servers just shut down.
