I liked reading a lot when i was a kid, now don`t have that much time to read anymore, but i read one book of LOTR in the plane when flying to kenia and the second one when returning. The third one i read 2 days later. So basically i read the whole trilogy in 3 days.
mm gonna start a new topic about books

What do you do instead? I find reading to be much more productive than watching tv or a movie, for instance. Besides being good for the mind (and grammar, and spelling, and vocabulary) you can get alot more involved in the storyline. A good book is much more immersive than a good movie. And television just sucks.
Hmm...I wonder where 'posting on a forum' rates?

I prefer the telly, but more so computer games, especially one specialising in the free roaming effect.
Thats why I don't like books, I can't get involved in them. Even in Good omens, which I enjoyed, i didn't get immersed in the story line.

hmmm... that's just odd to me. I get immersed in books I don't even like. Well, to each their own, I suppose. Blech....telly. Horrible invention.
Computer games, on the other hand, I can relate to.

Mole, the more and more I read from you, the more I am wondering if your have a point. You seem to contribute nothing but small minded, illinformed, ideas. If you do not read then you base all knowledge on your own experiences, many of which you have not tried. Where are you basing your ideas from then? I realize this is a bit harsh. But maybe it is something for which you should ponder. Of what use are you but to be a sophist casting shadows on the walls of the cave? *hugs*

best to cast a shadow then to be one.
...cast upon the wall, the shape of a child, its arms flung up to catch a ball that would never descend. A reflection of ash and fire and life, forever etched upon the wall by the flash of nuclear fire...

Seeing as I'm a literature student (and Rinox too I might add, albeit an erratic one ) I can't help but feeling a little tiffed off at the suggestion that most of what I'm doing here at uni is 'wasting my time' I don't really pass judgement on people who study physics or biology (well I do, but not in public ) and I certainly LIKE books. In a big way. a BIIIIIIG way.
Anyway, just so y'all know where I stand.
