Post New.net
Okay i got several entries from New.net or newdotnet when i scan for spyware with ad-aware. I THINK it's just some garbage that the previous owner of this computer has put on it, so i want to remove it. Now my questions:

What does this thing exactly do?

Why can't i remove it with ad-aware without crashing my internet connection?

explanation: i previously removed everything of this new.net thing and couldn't connect to internet anymore. Luckily i had it in quarantine, when i recovered the files it worked again.

*update* i just found the readme of this program, it says that:

The primary function of NewDotNet is to enable individual
computers to access the website names and email addresses that
are within the domain namespace that New.net has launched.
Examples of the domain names that NewDotNet enables are:

.SHOP .XXX .CLUB .LTD
.INC .TRAVEL .TECH .SPORT
.FAMILY .LAW .MED .MP3

Now in the uninstall procedure i have to "Locate either New.net Application or New.net Domains and select it". How do i know which ones are these?

I know, i'm a computer-dumbass, help me! :)

New.net is a nasty piece of spyware. If Add Aware isn't able to remove this, ask help at www.lavasoftsupport.com, but best is to do a search first.

I couldn't quickly find a way to uninstall New.net safely, but after you've removed it with Add Aware this program should be able to fix your internet connection.

Thx for the links, i searched a bit on that second site you directed me to, and i think i killed the bastard now. It sucks that by just deleting it you screw up your internet connection, could have caused me lots of troubles. Let's hope the nasty bugs stay away this time.
