Post Trying to configure Netscape Mail
Helllo there. I am trying to set up my email account with hotmail with NEtscape so that i can use it like Outlook. It asks me the address of my incoming server (which i dont know) and sais its probably smtp or summin.

And also i dont know whether to put POP or the other one.

Why isnt this shit straightforward?

Can you guys tell me what to do?

Thanks.

The adress of your incoming server must be mentioned somewhere at hotmail. Doesn't Netscape mail have a manual?

I don't use Hotmail nor Netscape, but for Eudora there is a very good manual (off course that wouldn't help you ), but there should be ones for Netscape as well, try the Netscape site or Google.

That Netscape site is indeed a lot of crap.
It looks more like one of those search sites you get when domain names are expired, then a serious portal for a company like Netscape.

EDIT: two seconds searching on Goolge however: http://et.nmsu.edu/~etti/winter98/techt ... iltut.html

I only posted that link I didn't read it. :?

I've never used Netscape mail.

I'm sure all information you need is on the hotmail site, but I haven't used that in years.

*sigh*

you can't use hotmail with netscape mail.

Christ... how many messages did you two pansies post back and forth?

Anyway, you can't use hotmail with anything but MS outlook express or outlook. Why? Because Microsoft owns Hotmail, outlook and Outlook Express.

Besides, configuring a virus magnet like outlook express/outlook to receive mail from a spam magnet like hotmail isn't necessarily a very good idea.

Conclusion: stick with your ISP e-mail (why doesn't everybody do that, nowadays you can get enough adresses with your internet account.)
