What the fuck is...
svcinit.exe?
From time to time it uses almost all my CPU, and as my pc is also very slow lately I wonder what it is and what it does... and if I can kill it.

Dunno, all i know is that most trojans cause your pc to slow down dramatically. But it's not a trojan since it's not on symantec's list. Thus i would think some kind of spyware thing.

first, kill the service in task manager.
next, open up the registry (regedit) and search for 'svcinit.exe' and kill every mention of it.
third, find it on your harddrive and delete it.
Last, open up msconfig and search every tab for any mention of it. If there's a mention, delete it or uncheck it.
That includes the startup tab, system.ini, win.ini and services.
That should do it.
Technically you could just delete the file off your hard drive, but you'll probably get errors when you boot up windows since it won't be able to find the file.

Man I hate this shit.
I got a firewall, two goddamn anti-spyware programs, an anti-virus program and an anti hi-jack program.
What else do I need to keep my system safe from this kind of motherfuckers?

well, just for the record, a keylogger is NOT a virus. It doesn't spread automatically. It doesn't spread through email like a virus. It's a program. Someone had to put it on your computer and run it. Now, it may have been disguised as something else, but someone that uses your computer either purposefully or inadvertantly installed that thing.

Yeah well I don't use Kazaa often, and it's been a very long time since I installed something that might contain malicious stuff.

Get any programs via email? Anyone else use your computer? Download anything suspicious? BTW, are you behind a firewall? Or at least a NAT router? Though it won't stop stuff like keyloggers, it'll make other types of malicious things more difficult. (not impossible, though)
I have a Cisco router working as a NAT box... The things I can do with access lists are amazing... I only recently learned of all the crazy things I can do.

Three other people are using this pc regulary. As I said I have a firewall, and a pretty good one: Sygate Personal Firewall.
The only things I've installed lately are Windows Updates, Office 2000 and some other things I need for my study.
I don't think anything is wrong with that though.

Omfg, i was right about it was i? I'm so 1337 man.
Anyways...i would agree with Satis and Pig that you find out who is responsible for putting it on your pc. You can have all the firewalls and scanners in the world; if you're dealing with nitwits they WILL find a way to screw up a pc.
It's all a matter of good pc management really...i don't have a firewall, scanner, spyware killer or anything, have dsl open about 15 hours a day or more, and i very seldom get spyware or virii. Because i bullied every nitwit bastard who uses this pc (literally) in obedience after they screwed up one time.
So now they learned to NOT search porn over the net (huge amounts of dialers and whatnot); NEVER download software without my explicit permission, NEVER click "yes" when a window asks them "install this or that", etc. Works like a charm.
So get ready to yell the shit out of someone there Arathorn...i hope your fellow users aren't basketball centers hehehe

Heh, they are my sister (she isn't too dumb so I don't suspect her), my mother, who only uses it for her work, practicly only e-mails, and does Word and Excel.
My father also uses this pc and I'm afraid that I can never shout enough at him 'cus he'll never understand anything even remotely related to computers. I think it takes more time trying to educate him then removing possible shit he causes.

I bet it's your dad browsing porn. Yep, probably. Maybe your mom.
If you can't control the other pc users, you may as well get used to the fact that you have crap on your pc. Nothing you can do about it. They ARE the weakest link.
