Having issues after installing the new expansion pack for Sims Island Paradise. It has been lagging and freezes up. I have tried everything I can think of. I think it might be time for an upgrade. Sigh I dont play anything else so I dont know if it happens with other games. I do have all expansions and stuff packs Installed. I still think what I have should beable to handle Sims!

As far as your machine goes, it should ace the game with ease. This is most definitely a problem with the game, not the pc.

1) Try this in game:

When in game enter the code "resetsims *" (without the quotation marks but With the *)
Apparently sims pathfinding issues cause enormous amount of lag.

2) This topic offers some more things to check:

I was just reading the something sumular! But I really thought it was my computer since I started eith a fresh world and it was lagging from the start. I am going to try and and delete all the abandoned cars in the town. My bf hates the game he says it only causes disk errors and create s fragments. I have an ssd but the game is installed on a separate hard drive. Im beside myself haha Iam ututterly addicted to that damn game. Hopefully I can get it fix before I lose my mind ;)

Oh come on! Its by far the best expansion pack they have put out ever. Plus if thats ture Id lost it years ago seeing how I own every sims 1, 2, 3 game, expansion and stuff pack. We wont even get into store items. :) there could be worse games I could be playing :D

Ive been wanting to upgrade my computer for sometime but there isnt much else I can add to it. I guess it soon will be time to get a new cpu and mo.

Well it depends on your monitor, how far will it go. You already have enough to play most games on 19x10 resolution. If you want to go beyond that, then you need a few new parts.

I have a 22in monitor. I was going to go up, but 32 is too big and is there really that much of a difference in 22 to 25? I have had this HP 22in monitor for like 5 years.

I may have found a fix for my problem!! I found a mod called overwatch that auto clears stuck sims and abandoned cars. So far so good. I even worked on building my houseboat lastnight. Then I took my sailboat out and got attacked by a kracken and ended up unlocking an uncharted island. :)

Good for you. Not sure if anyone else here plays the game though, including me.
