Post subject:  Selecting my standard 'word' program
I suddenly noticed that when i wanted to open a .doc file, my computer started opening it with Microsoft Word starter 2010, same with Excel files opening with microsoft Excel starter 2010.

I didn't ask for this, nor do i have any idea why this has changed all of a sudden. Question is: how do i put it back? I just want to use my old, trusty office 2007.

I already figured out that when i go to 'start - standard programs' i can manually choose which program i want to use for which extension. I was looking for a quicker way though: that program is opening a shitload of extensions.
It doesn't appear in the list of programs that you can select to set your preferences btw (like choose between chrome/explorer).

So any pointers?

Well, you could try right clicking on the file, choose 'Open With' and 'Choose Default Program'.

Be careful when doing this on .DLL files. Can easily damage OS.

Well the thing is, i can't seem to find excel2007 in that list strangely enough :(

Fixed most of the word files manually.

I hate computers!
No not really, just when they're not doing what i want them to do.

Decided to switch off automatic updating (which i thought was off btw) and do a system restore or whatever you tech kids call that, i'd just say i reloaded an earlier save game :wink:
