As a person who generally supports Asus and their products, I feel that this time Asus has been naughty. Transformer Prime is name they shouldn't have used without licensing. I mean Optimus Prime is the leading hero of the transformers franchise and the customer is going to draw parallels even if Asus states otherwise. Hasbro was there first, Asus was too late, and the rules apply for everyone. Transformer by itself is ok in my view, since the tablet does transform although not into a cool car or some super robot, adding the word Prime there changes the game.

I see your point, but a big part of the whole tradermark thing is to keep consumers from being confused. I don't think there's much of a chance of confusion between a tablet and a toy that transforms from a robot into a truck. *shrug* I think it was a dumb name from Asus, but they're not exactly known for great naming schemes.
