Post Neutrinos travelling faster than light?
Possible result of neutrinos traveling faster than the speed of light. If that ends up being the case, we're looking at major problem with the theory of relativity, which could up end a lot of modern physics. Interesting stuff. It's from the peeps at CERN (the LHC guys), so it's not some crank tossing out basement lab crap.

Chances are it's wrong and there's some error that's screwing up the measurement. Interesting none-the-less.

Yeah, I heard about it. Of course, quantum physics are already causing a lot of conflicts with traditional laws of physics as it is, so this doesn't really come as a massive surprise. Now, if only we could somehow understand harness the strange forces in submolecular physics, then we'd be travelling and teleporting at mofo speeds*.

* probably not, but at least it'd be a lot easier to do :P

well, if neutrinos truly do travel faster than light, and don't interact with matter much, we're looking at really high speed communication. If we can get detectors that are more sensitive and smaller, that could lead to much faster internet connections, for instance. But ramifications to physics are extreme. Who knows what could come out of additional research.

Oh come on, its either the Death Star or Skynet, what else could it be.
