Post Rockstar motion-detecting faces
Though this is about a game, I'm more interested in the technology behind it, hence the forum I put it in. It's basicly Rockstar bringing facial expressions in games (in this case L.A. Confidential Noire) to the next level:

Wow. Kind of a breakthrough, no?

This is applicable to pretty much any FPS / RPG. Fallout 5 should have decent dialogue. Hooray!

*wait for Ox to come in an defend Fallout 3/NV*

:)

It certainly looks revolutionary now, but these things always look a lot better in tech demos than in-game. Still, the technology seems to be getting there.

Looks great. I understand that the tech is still in its infant state so given some time it could lead to fantastic results.

I like the tech, but I'm surprised Rockstar is doing it. Their 3d engines have been falling further and further behind technologically... some good facial animations aren't going to make up for the blocky models and washed out textures.
