I got that decapitation perk too and I love it! About time Beth put in some really gruesome moves ;) Your companion looks terrifyingly weird in that pic; and what type of sword is that daedric one, I love the design but haven't seen it before.

You guys still sound like 20 times the badasses that I am. Kinda sad that companions can't die tbh - would add a lot to the experience if they could. Like Pev's dog. ;)

Slight spoilers in your pics Satis. I mean, nothing ZOMG WUT but like the burning of Olaf thing etc etc. Not that I'm pissed off with it or anything, just saying.

lol... there are slight spoilers everywhere! The only thing I'm spoiler-tagging is main quest.

Anyway, I'm trying to do this one long quest that takes you all over the place collecting pieces of an amulet. Got to the second place and the door is locked and I have no idea where to get the key. It's unpickable, of course. Kind of annoying. There must be another quest that takes you in there, probably from Winterhold, but mrmm.

The name of my companion's sword is Breaking Dawn. It sets shit on fire.

BTW, I found and looted a Dwemer city, but right at the end, there's a pedestal to put something. Whatever it is, I didn't have it. I wonder what it is and what happens if you do it? On the same note, there are pedestals in ruins all over the place in dome-like structures. Any idea what they're for or what to put on them?

So, I've been running around trying to whittle down my quest list a little bit, while exploring anything interesting I run into I've done quite some exploring. Also, after having hit some dwemer ruins, I've been building a significant number of dwemer bows with the spoils, improving my smithing skills significantly. I can now make glass armor, though I have yet to actually do so. That's certainly on my short list.

All the loot has ended up with me having a significant number of high dollar jewelry. I went ahead and spent some perks on making it so I can sell anything to any merchant, making dumping the loot a bit easier.

I'm still occasionally amazed by how pretty the game gets. Just a stream is enough to amaze me at times.

Whilst exploring the north coast in pursuit of a quest, I came upon a cavern with an entire forest growing within. It was amazing.

I realize I never showed off my Solitude house, so here are a few pictures. First, the outside:

Here's a shot of the ground floor:

Another ground floor shot:

And the basement:

Of course, I failed to get a shot of the top floor or the patio. *shrug*

Here I learned how to chop wood. I'm not really sure what the point is, but hey, whatever.

Here's a pretty view of the sun setting over the way in the far north.

I ran into this blood dragon close to Winterhold. Here it's setting my companion on fire. The dragon was tough, mainly because he was really hard to hit and didn't like to land. Once I got him to land and not immediately take off, I was able to carve him into pieces with my war axe.

I discovered a statue of Azura on top of a mountain. A quests from one of her followers is high on my importance list.

I fast-traveled to some ruins and found my horse Cracker doing gymnastics with his head in the snow. Silly cracker!

That's one crazy cracker! hehe. I've been in that cave with the forest, it's one of the most stunning places I've seen so far. I'm liking the house in Solitude too, looks a bit bigger than the one in Whiterun. As far as wood cutting goes I think it's literally there for the sake of immersion; you have no skills associated with it and the resulting firewood doesn't even sell for much. I just dropped my woodcutters axe ages ago when I needed more weight for loot

Yea... I probably should drop that thing for space soon. I think I need to chop some wood to help the citizens of some place or other so I can become a Thane (for the 3rd time).

BTW, your companion can die. I'm not sure what makes him die in some cases but not others, but I had mine die fighting a necromancer. This wasn't that kind of game for me though, so he's alive again. Ox managed to get his housecarl killed too, judging by his Steam ravings. :P So be warned!

Yeah my dog got killed, I think it's that they cower when on 0hp and yield, but if they then take x amount of damage on top, they die forever. My dog was certainly cowering and the big mean zombie smushed him with an axe :(

oh, ok, so dogs are more like people and less like horses. Horses just die. My horse doesn't cower unless it's a dragon coming after him. BTW, I did the Azura's star quest recently... good stuff. On the last part I kinda rushed the guy and killed him... so if you don't, please let me know how it goes. You'll know what I'm talking about when you get there.

Love the "landscape shots". And your house looks massive! Not on the outside, actually, but the interior pics make it look pretty spacey.

And as you know from my Steam ramblings, I found a device that opened up those pedestals in the Dwemer ruins. :) Well, at least in one of them, I haven't tried it on other ones yet.

I've just started the Azura's star quest, spoken to the elven mage who specialises in stars and so on my way to find that guy right now. I'll let you know how it goes, I'll take it easy and not charge in straight away, see what happens.

Post Re: Satis's adventures in Skyrim!
Guess it's been awhile. So, some quick updates.

I completed the companions quest line. It's pretty awesome. :p
I went to Markarth, started investigating crap, and got tossed in jail like Pevil. Rest in spoiler tags in case someone hasn't done this yet.
I ended up in the dungeon locked up with the forsworn leader. I don't really like the forsworn, but I figured my only way out of there was to work with them so I could get my revenge on the fucker that got me in there. So I helped him out, and next thing I know they're running rampage through Markarth. The bad guy dies and the forsworn disappear.

On an unrelated quest, I stumbled into the cave where the dude and his allies were hanging out. As I may have mentioned, I hate the Forsworn, so I just massacred them all.
The king is dead. Screw you, king!

Next I did the Jarl's quests and got my house. I did not have to kill a dragon, so i'm guessing the Jarl's quests are random.

I then followed the main quest for awhile. You get to the point where you can ask someone where the dragon shouts are (one by one), so I did that for awhile... got quite a number of shouts out of it. I pushed the main quest for awhile, but I'm afraid I'm nearing the end, so I stopped and joined the Stormcloaks. Working my way through that now.

BTW, as part of the main quest, I ended up in the underground dwemer cavern. Freaking awesome. You can mine soul stones! Jesus. I got a bunch of black stones directly from the earth. Cool stuff.

Speaking of which, my follower for most of the game kept having to leave during the companion quests, as I was forced to use one of the companions. Eventually I just stopped retrieving him, but prior to going to the under-dwarf, I picked up a new companion. Mjolf the Lioness? Something like that. I have her decked out in ebony armor with a steal battleax that sucks souls. So I have her carrying all my soul stones. She regularly fills them for me with that axe.

Also, unfortunately, my horse is dead. Cracked was killed by some forsworn while I was busy taking out a dragon. Very annoying. That's another reason for my Forsworn hatred. I think Fluffy is dead too.. occasionally I'll warp somewhere and there's a dead horse that comes along for the ride. I think it's Fluffy. I'll never love again.

I'll post pics when I have more time. Unfortunately, work beckons with is gnarled and twisted limbs.

A soul gem mine! I must go there!

Good update, sounds like some intriguing stuff, I've still barely touched the main quest, been to High Hrothgar and that's it, still gotta go get the horn or whatever they ask for.

ah, ok. If you don't mind a minor spoiler

After getting the horn, you can talk to the main guy about the voice...just asking a question about it. He says he can't teach you the words, but he can tell you where to retrieve them or whatever. do this and he marks their location on your map. He'll only do one at a time, though... so talk to him, get a location, fight your way to it, learn word, then back to him... repeat repeat repeat. He ends up sending you to some interesting locations, and I've got a huge list of shouts now.

Cool, that's not much of a spoiler so might do that. Keep being tempted to do the quest anyway just for the sake of it but then I get distracted by the million other things to do ;)

Is the Dwemer cavern called ? If so, it's the same place I was in earlier thanks to a random Daedric Prince's quest I found somewhere. I spent so much time in there haha...geode veins ftw!

And like you I have taken quite then combat shine to Mjoll the Lioness. Also in full ebony armor that I full upgraded and even enchanted. She rocks.:)
