Tips to make Skyrim more PC friendly...like adjusting FoV, getting rid of mouse smoothing etc

Might take a look at that later, so far running on medium, not tried pushing it yet and had a very smooth experience, one crash (now, after 7 hours of play) and no slow down at all.

Post Re: Elder Scrolls V
From PC Gamer via the Steam Skyrim news head

Quote:
Skyrim’s kind of a big deal. Seeing as you’ve probably heard it mentioned more than the word “the” in the past 24 hours, I doubt that comes as a Tamriel-sized surprise to you. That said, at this point, even my cold, jaded soul can’t help but say damn.

According to Steam’s tracker, Skyrim’s rocketed to 231,593 players (as of writing) during its first 24 hours. For reference, Modern Warfare 3′s currently in distant second at 78,161. That’s sort of, you know, insane. It’s probably also a record number of people concurrently falling to their knees, gazing up into the falling rain, and cursing a single interface designer’s name.

In the end it comes down to the same problem I have with all these sorts of open world games. I find them sort of paralyzing. When I meet a group of people in Skyrim and they want me to join their cult or whatever I just freeze up. If I do join it, will I miss out on some cool thing later? If I don’t join it, are they going to have some rad adventure without me? No matter what I choose I feel like I missed out on something awesome. I’m not picking a direction to go, I’m deciding not to go a hundred other directions. Obviously I’m a crazy person but that’s just how these games make me feel. I need a much more directed game experience to have a good time.

Gabe of PA posted this. I can kind of relate to him.

hey, to each their own. I know that there must be tons of stories I'm missing out on, since I'm just running around killing shit. But it's ok, because I know I'll be playing it again... and maybe again... and maybe yet again... so it's ok! I may actually see 25% of what the game has to offer. Eventually.

Yeah, I think that kind of feeling comes with completionist/OCD personalities more than anything else. I don't mind not seeing everything in the game, as long as I have a blast playing it. :)

The oblivion game of the year ad is really getting on my nerves in steam. Its like spitting in my face. You can buy this old busted thing but not the new hotness. Ass-holes.

lol, man, it's ok. Are you seriously unable to buy the game? Do you want one of us to gift it to you? I'm sure we could work out a trade... Skyrim for vodka and caviar or something.

No its ok. I hate the principal. I'm put in the same league as criminals by default. That ad is like salt in a wound. I am planning to buy it next christmas with the add ons etc. Going to pick up Saints Row 3.
