Ah a new member, welcome!
You can disarm the traps by clicking on your thief's button looking like some sort of hook (just hover your mouse over the buttons at the bottom of the screen and press tab untill one says "disarm traps").
Then simply click on the trap with your mouse (your arrow should have been changed into something I can't describe well, I think it should look like a trap).

Heh, Baldur's Gate can be pretty confusing icon-wise.
The icon you'll need to use is the generic "thieving" icon, the small mask. Apart from picking locks and pockets it will also disarm traps. The small mask looks more like a pretzel or an eight on its side than a mask too.

Uhm no, it's regular BG. Didn't even notice the great resolution before you mentioned it either lol; dunno how and why it's like this tho.

Hehe, glad to have helped you out!! Feel free to ask questions about BG, BG2 and/or any mods, IWD and IWD2, we've got quite a few BG-buffs around here. Even if this forum is modest in size we all visit it often and hail orginally from a big games-site. This community is the hard-core of that site. Just tought i'd give you some background on our place here.
Enjoy BG!

Same as Lac says, and if i'm not playing assassin, i'm dwarven berserker or something.
I PLAYED BG1 + TOTSC AGAIN JUST TO SEE IF I COULD IMPORT ANY OTHER STUFF THAN THE PANTS IN BG2 FFS
if that isn't hardcore, then by all means call me a softie.
