Mae'var is in the basement of that building in the docks district that's called Mae'Var's guildhall I think (I mean I know he's there, I'm just not sure how the building is called on the map). Anyway it's a building in the middle of the area where thhe people skit away from (You can read that when you click on the building).

In case your suffering from severe blindness or so (like i had first time i was in the guildhall): talk to the fat guy who will let you in if you show him the papers you got, then take the left door, there
are stairs on your left, they lead you to the basement. The secret door is in the middle of the large whole (north side of the room). You might need to have your thief search for it.

Don`t worry, i had to searche for it the first time as well, took me a loooong time to finally find it.

Hehe i know, i can`t believe how many times i must have walked past that stairs and NOT seeing it.
