HIya guys. I've just started my umpteenth attempt to beat BG I and I was wondering about this alledged ring of wizadry at the friendly arms inn. Does irt exist? Where is it?

It is there indeed, but if you patched your game it isn't there anymore. I was playing without patch so i have it.

*found both of them* the rind is in the bottom right corner of the map, near a tree with a stone at the bottom of it.
The armour is in... *forgot the name of the town* but it's the one with the farms, and it's on the far left ploughed feild, about half way up, on the very left.
Can you make more than one ankheg armour at the Smithys?

Yeah 2 armours and that is it. There is a wand of frost near the mine, it's in the tree at the top north west bit

I thought you could make as many ankheg armors as you could find shells? Of course, the cost doesn't make it profitable (can't just kill ankhegs, make armor and then sell it, you end up in the red). And the freakin' ankheg shell is heavy as hell. Bleh. It's been awhile.  My chica got thoroughly bored of BG and refuses to play it again.

There are not the best armour but they are better than some of them, the weight factor is really important as well.
