Good stuff lads
Just an update, into chapter 4 now...interesting end to the last one...if there is anything I love about this game its the story. It just has the feel of an epic tale.
Oh, and baranger is going to get his ass handed to him at some point.

Hehehe...I'm gonna ask you a few questions when you're done on some of the more interesting moments in the game.
This reminds me: i still have to finish this game.

lol @ J.
Problem is, I played Witcher 1 so long so long ago, I barely remember the general gist of the story, much less any specifics. So it's really hard for me to actually have any kind of intelligent discussion about it.

Don't worry about it, i should have finished this a loooong time ago. Kinda got burned out i guess, if i remember correctly i have to fight the striga now. Maybe this can motivate me to pick it up again, although i think i'll be very rusty on the combo's.

It's never actually SAID that he's Alvin, but yeah, it's heavily implied. The cool thing is that he drops a few hints before you realise this (he tells you you're "even" after coming to your help in the swamp iirc, referring to how you saved Alvin's life earlier), and that he even draws from the 'life lessons' you gave him as a child to explain his motivations for what he did (ie his reasons will be different depending on what you taught him).
Important question: did you side with the Flaming Rose, the Rebels, or did you stay neutral (and get in trouble with both)?
That sword....is for monsters! The books are a fun read too btw - afaik the first two Witcher books have been translated into English. I read them and they are good to great. Don't know about the rest of his oeuvre.

As you know, the CDPR is working on an Enhanced Edition for the Witcher2, and it should be here in just over a month (April 17th).
Here's a little taste...an amazing cutscene, the assassination of Demavend (that's not a spoiler really, it already happened as the game starts).
