Post NWN II Coop
Okay, i have a copy of NWN2 inbound (used £7.50 discount on my Game card, WOOP WOOP!). Peltz you sound up for it. You mentioned Ox may be up for it too, so i guess we can only try, eh?

What's the max # of party members and how are we going to play it? (classes?)

I'm up for doing it traditionally, ie, make sure each player covers a specific skillset, e.g:

1 or 2 fighters
1 x wizard or equivalent nuker
1 x cleric or equivalent healer / stat-booster
1 x thief for stealing shit and lockpicking
1 x paladin or equivalent leader / charmer

What do you think?

Mostly it is 4 people, You as the main and 3 followers. As for the party layout, we'll go as you command. How are things with your internet connection btw?

EDIT:

After speaking with Ox and you i decided to go as a bard/red dragon disciple. And i will opt for maces as a weapon.

You can check the classes and stuff here: http://www.gamebanshee.com/neverwintern ... lasses.php

Okay, so you're going for good charisma and lockpicking then?

My copy should arrive tomorrow.

Who's going to have the remaining character?

Ox I bet will go for a tank, so that leaves us 1 nuker and 1 medic I think. Sorcerer and Cleric methinks.

Oh, my connection is fine now. I just have to make sure O'Cram isn't downloading porn at the same time and I should have a quick stable connection.

Tank?! Nah I'll go Druid. JUST KIDDING

I'm up for a game yeah. I think I got the game still installed so I'll just check for the latest updates while Derf is getting pwnt by UK mail.

Btw Derf, how much porn does O'Cram have really? Seems like he's pretty much always downloading when you're trying to play a MP game. :P

I'll go for Dwarven Defender. Which means I can't be totally chaotic evil (they can only be lawful) so I dunno how that'll work out. May depend on Derf's character choice.

I don't mind controlling the last character (cleric?) but I can't guarantee I'll do anything else but heal my tank.

Okay, take the cleric and give him some Constitution so your Dwarf can have some company on the front line. :)

Actually, I might go for wizard since Peltz is already plannign to have someone with high Charisma I think.

After doing some reading on the gamebanshee site (at work so NWN2 here) I decided I'm gonna go with fighter/dwarven defender. Most other prestige classes for evil fighters look like shite. :( Not gonna mix in a ranger level since I will be fighting with a shield.

I'll make a cleric then. Dwarven perhaps. :P And prestige class warpriest, w00t.

Actually the charisma will only be 14. I was planning more of an action bard, with high dex and dual wield. Since you are going to be the main, and you want to be a ranged nuker i would think that a sorcerer would be good choice. But then again, im a noob in D&D.

Str: 12
Dex: 16
Con: 10
Int: 15
Wis: 10
Cha: 14

Background: Natural leader (+1 to party hit rolls/-1 to my own saves)

The extra ability points i would use to bump dex 17.

So the idea behind this character is passive buff/secondary dps.

Well that is inital plan so far. Could be utter gimp for all i know.

lol @ utter gimp.

Okay, a sorcerer nuker leader makes sense.

A good point you raise regarding the buffing ability of the Bard (which I forgot). Leads me to question what kind of Cleric we should have, if at all. In my books, the Cleric is famous for healing and buffing, but since we have a good bufferer already, perhaps we can concentrate him more on something else, like fighting? Not sure.

Well the cleric and bard buffs are different and they do stack so i dont see a problem there. Cleric is ok, someone to keep an eye on Ox and his ax.

*mutters something about Derf's slow NWN2 acquiring process* hehee

And don't worry guys, my cleric won't be a pure healer. He/she'll be a combat-oriented character and will advance into the battlepriest prestige class.

Derf, if you're going with a sorcerer it might be handy to read up on 3rd edition D&D a bit. I mean, with a sorcerer's fairly low amount of spells your character might end up pretty useless should you pick a few duds. :)

Starting at 6th level, and every two levels after, sorcerers can replace one known spell with a new spell of the same level. The spell that can be replaced must be two spell levels below what the sorcerer can currently cast (1st level spell at 6, 1st or 2nd level spell at 8, 1st or 2nd or 3rd level spell at 10, and so forth).

Also on the mp note, i think we should fire up hamachi and try to fire up a "local" game.

Sure. I already created a Bioware user account, but I can't seem to make premade characters for insta-MP use (like in BG2). No matter. :)

Yes you can, just fire up a game and create a character, then enter a game and export this character. But for the sake of good mp experience, dont gain xp with that character.

EDIT: here what the mp window looks like, perhaps satis can explain a little how they ran the mp game and how exactly and when did shiny join in.
