Quote:
- New California Rangers wear modified LAPD riot armor. The trenchcoat guy from the teaser is identified as one in the article.
- Gun modifications will increase damage, ammo capacity, accuracy, rate of fire and more
- The player will be able to have two or three companions in their party
- Unsurprisingly, deathclaws and radscorpions are mentioned
- The dinosaur casino is identified as Dinky the Dinosaur
- NCR is described as large and powerful but bureaucratic.
- J.E. Sawyer: "The Karma system is mostly the same as in Fallout 3, but checked less often. Mostly we rely on reputation, because that's what people know. Karma is just a general indicator of how much of a sonofabitch you are. If you murder people in secret, your reputation doesn't go down because no on knows you did anything, so you can maintain a good reputation but your karma has tanked really heavily. Karma does influence some things, but reputation is usually what most people in the world base their opinions of you on."

awesome about the karma/reputation thing. I can totally murder people now without people hating me.

First screens

Looks a lot like F3, but that is to be expected seeing as it's the same engine. Gameplay will probably differ vastly (for the better). :)

hmm... is it me, or do the textures look a little blurry for a modern game?

They're probably XBox screens. No worries.

You'll also use a vitomatic vigor tester machine to determine your S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats. In a way that is similar to seeing a therapist, the doc gives you a personality test to determine your skills and define your character. He'll ask you questions like what comes to mind when you hear the word "dog" or "light," and the responses you give can be straightforward or slightly disturbing. For example, a couple of the optional responses for hearing the word "mother" included things like "cookie jar" and "human shield."

Gamespot took the New Vegas for a spin.

Man I may be a jerk but she's still my mum. :P Even I wouldn't go that far.

New Vegas looks better and better every time I hear about it.

"Mommy would you please capture that incoming rocket for me, pleeeaaase!"

Somehow i think New Vegas is what FO3 should have been. And hopefully we will see the tactics division revived as well.

New Vegas is up for preorder on steam, and I would be very tempted to buy it if it offered some sort of preorder price advantage, but no, it's still at 49.99€. :? The preorder stuff seems pretty bleak compared to DA or the likes too. So what's the point? :(

It's too bad for Bethesda, because even a 10% discount would have seen me whip out my credit card already as opposed to in a few months. New Vegas is gonna own. :P (relentless optimism in a world of jade)

Those who pick up the game through Wal-Mart or Steam get the Caravan Pack, offering lightweight leather armor, a sturdy caravan shotgun, four repair kits, and a pair of binoculars.

Hehe. Yeah, I don't know if those items are worth a preorder. Still, plenty of time, might change my mind later. In the meantime I'll look around for better (cheaper) preorder deals in retail. I think New Vegas supports steamworks so it'll integrate seamlessly into steam.

I left my usual scathing remark on RPS.

Frankly still not impressed since it looks exactly like FO3.
