Gamespot

1. www.Interplay.com - The website
2. Project V13 - Supposedly a Fallout MMO
3. The MMO will surely be the death of Interplay.

Heh, with a name like that it can't be anything else than the mythical Fallout MMORPG. :) (for those who might not be in the know -looking at you Satis, Pev :P -Vault 13 is the home of the original vault dweller in the fallout series)

Quote:
As most people know, Bethesda owns the Fallout intellectual property. Bought off of struggling Interplay for $5.75 million, everything from the radscorpions to Nuka Cola is owned by Bethesda. You would assume that any future Fallout game is going to have a Bethesda stamp on the box.

But this isn't the case, apparently. It seems some sub-clause of a clause's clause in the big stack of paperwork transferring the Fallout IP from Interplay to Bethesda allowed for one more final non-Bethesda Fallout game to be made, with conditions.

Interplay is legally able to make a Fallout MMO if they : a) started to work on it within 2 years of signed over the Fallout rights; b) were able to secure $30 million of funding, to do the job right; and c) finished the game before April, 2013.

pffft thank you ox, I have played the start of FO you know, I'm aware of Vault 13 and the water chip! Yeah, that's right. I know about the water chip :P

Ooh Chris Taylor, Dungeon Siege guy... as much as I love DS and DS2 I can't see that being a great qualification for making a Fallout MMO...

Can't Interplay stay dead? It's last years were embarrassing enough already.

lol. Well, you can't deny the incredibly shitty things they've done with some of their more legendary licences after Black Isle croaked. :P

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel come to mind...even Fallout Tactics was, frankly, crap. The only thing that made it playable was the Fallout universe. Barely. :(

Well i liked tactics but not because it was fallout game, rather it was quite decent turned based squad shooter. I like that kind of games: xcom, jagged allience, silent storm. there are very few good ones, most are utter crap.

I wouldnt mind seeing another tactics game.

EDIT: Atleast the core mechanics of Tactics worked fine, untill ofcourse the very last map which bugged out.

I'm partial to the genre as well (Jagged Alliance, X-com etc) but I didn't like FT. Maybe it's just my personal taste. :) A lot of the SPECIAL skills were pretty pointless in Tactics. They tried to insert a very small RPG-style story with the bases and so on, but when it really came down to it all you ever did at a base was have your gambling specialist bleed the stores dry. :P

But it WAS cool to recruit ghouls, super mutants and deathclaws into your squad! And the cinematic cut-scenes were top-quality. :)

I want a new xcom. That game was the bomb. Except when your best soldier would get possessed and start shooting all the characters you've grown attached to.

Forget it sat, it aint gonna happen. so many have tried and all have failed. At best, someone could revive the lost Allience ip.

*sigh* I know. they tried with that UFO Apocalypse game or whatever, but that game blew ass. It's too bad. I mean, really, how hard could it be.

Oh well, our memories are always shinier than reality, anyway. Nothing could possibly match my expectations for a game I would stay up till 6am playing, smoking, toking and drinking the whole time. :P

Actually Apocalypse is quite ok, the interceptor and enforcer are bad.
