Post Freezing
( :o Totally forgot I had this game) Anyway, my game keeps freezing when I play it a few mins, and I can't get past the party creation now :P Have to do it over and over again. I d/led the latest patch my system is good enough, and I can't find a troubleshooting site. Anyone here had this/know a troubleshooting site?

have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling it? Since you're not even getting past the creation screen, that might be the best thing to try first. Uninstall, reinstall, patch, maybe defrag the computer. If not, sorry, I don't know much about Icewind Dale, just generic game troubleshooting. :)

:o I've been edited! Neway, I did a defrag, I tried, and it froze again. And I forgot to mention that it's not just the game that freezes, my pc doesn't respond either

does it only freeze for that game? Do you have any other 3d-intensive games?

If it freezes on all 3d-intensive apps, then it's motherboard drivers, graphics drivers or directx. Hopefully. If it's just that game, there's something wrong with it. I suggest you seek an answer, young padawan. Let the force guide you.

Eh? Did Pev attack your post as well as myself?

But anyway, try posting at http://forums.interplay.com . That's the official forum, so you are likely to get a decent response there.

Actually, I have the same problem, I've got an ok computer, I play almost all the games on the fourms just fine, except SWG. Can't get past that first loading screen. I figure ID2 doesnt like new pc's cause my bro's Viao with a TNT2 card and a 1.1 proc runs it fine. Though I wouldn't stoop that low just to play ID2.

Anyhoo, I've tried to update and patch with no avail, re-install, uninstall, minimum/full installation. Even on a clean system, with a new mobo. (didnt replace my mobo for ID2 :P ) I guess I'll go fire up one of my old emachines if I want to play. Which doesnt seem like its worth it at this point.
