Yea, but the tankiest character is a dwarven rogue/cleric.....

Have her at the moment, Rogue level 3 and Cleric level 2. She's quite annoying though, she just stands there while I'm being bashed by 4 Gnolls

Edit 1:Damn, I'm in some sort of elemental maze now, and at the end of it, you have to fight an elemental. Defeated three of them, but Earth remains. In the 5 times I defeated him, my henchman died (you can still heal her then) but at the moment you defeat the elemental, you're transported to the beginning of the maze. When you're too far from your henchman, he/she disappears. That is very annoying.

Edit 2: Oooooooh, reached the interlude. Can get Deekin as a henchman now, but since he calls me 'mean man' because I killed his old master, I traded him for Dorna again. Heh, you can punish Deekin though Maybe I should get him back......

Yeah I should Glad I didn't killed him in Chapter 1, would've missed a lot of fun.

About the 'you can finish it in about 10-20 hours' part: you'd think the game is very short. It is But the battles are MUCH more difficult than in the NWN OC. About every 'boss' has a bunch of 'lackeys' that cast annoying or good spells, or have good warriors around. Even the bosses are tougher. Had to fight a skeleton Blackguard once. Took me about 5-7 tries to succed without getting myself killed. Even had to let Dorna cast 'Bless' to help me. Never bothered casting bless in NWN OC

And about the I need a fighter henchman: Both Dorna and Xanos are dual-classed. Dorna is, as you might know, Rogue and Cleric. I thought for quite some time Xanos had just one class. It appears he's a Sorcerer/Barbarian guy. If you tell him to level up at Barbarian levels only, you'll get a good fighter I think (remembers Daelan)

Here are some:
1) Finish the prelude of the OC before you start SoU. The extra XP could come in handy.
2) The henchman thing. In stead of 4 diff henchmen, they have two. One is Rogue/Cleric, the other Sorcerer/Barbarian, and you can tell them what to level up (f.e. rogue or cleric), so you can get the S/B guy 1 Sorcerer 8 Barbarian or something.
3) Don't forget that you henchman can use rings/amulets/weapons etc. (I remembered the cloak/rings/amulet thing when I was halfway chapter 2

regarding the prelude, i always dash through killing as little as possible, leveling up with the old guy and fenthick, THEN going back and killing everything. THEN import into the prelude again. puts you a couple of hundred short of 4th level.

but you can give henchmen items, etc? very cool! does that also work for the oc?

No Tried. Guess it's because it was made before SoU. Oh, and another (small) tip:
4) Don't create too many Focus Crystals (you'll know what they are when you have SoU), I think I used about 4 of the 10 I had, and you lose the item that uses them at the end of Chapter 2. What class are you going to choose for the SoU campaign neway?

ermm..dunno..evil fighter, etc to get the blackguard maybe...or an elf something since it sounds like a lot of elven stuff going on. same old problem, to much choice..

Well, at least there is a Elven crypt where you can read certain stuff since you're an Elf. Later on in the game are other pillars, whith texts on it, but I don't know if you have to be Elven if you want to read it. Think not BTW, why not an Elven Blackguard? They have a -2 con, but a +2 dex. Ah well, just see for yourself

Ok, I'll take note of the focus crystal thing. Still in the elven crypt, but holidays have started, so I'll play some more once I get some sleep.

well, first impressions? i love it! really cool work. still in chp 1, finished the elven crypts and now in the great forest. any finished? what level did you make?

elven fighter by the way, very close to 6th lvl, one lvl of wizard after that then archane archer. w00t!!
