Re: The Fallout 3 topic
Btw Ox - I watched all 5 of those fall out machinimawhamashamablamas, or whatever they're called.
They're reall well put together with decent enough voice acting for me to watch them.
Good find!

Re: The Fallout 3 topic
hehe, yeah, they're really cool. Bit strange that you'd come back to them a year after they were released, but yeah.

Re: The Fallout 3 topic
http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/t ... interview/Fallout: New Vegas fan interview, pretty informative Derf will love this: | | | | Quote: You hinted at multiple ammo choices being available. How deep are you going with that? Will that only be regular and AP ammo? From DanishMIKI via Bethesda Blog
JS: What ammunition sub-types are available to the player depends on the base type. Not all ammunition types have standard, hollow point, and armor piercing variants. For example, there is no armor piercing .22 ammunition. In addition to "standard" ammunition, hollow point and armor piercing are the two most common variants. 20 gauge and 12 gauge shotguns have slug variants in addition to the standard (buckshot). Some calibers also have +P (overpressure) rounds, military surplus rounds (bought in bulk, increased power, increased wear on the weapon), or hand loads. Hand loads are always built at reloading benches in the world and can take a number of different forms. For example, you can craft .308 Jacketed Soft Points or .45-70 Gov't Semi-Wadcutters with very "hot" loads.
Energy Weapons and Explosives can also use ammunition subtypes. Some energy ammunition has "over charge" or "bulk" variants, the former being high-powered but damaging to the weapon and the latter being cheap but under-powered. 25mm grenades (used in the grenade machinegun) have a high explosive variant and 40mm grenades have an incendiary variant. | | | | |

Re: The Fallout 3 topic
Mmm, yeah ok, but that doesn't do much for the RPG element of the game, which is what's missing imho.
In FO1 and 2 we had different ammo types, but you appreciated them because you could see firsthand the extra damage they did on your enemy (TB combat + stats). Ammo types in something like FO3 would merely imply different ways of killing your enemies. The action passes so quickly and is so templated and common that you wont appreciate it.

Re: The Fallout 3 topic
Mmm ok. I see what you mean. Don't worry though, the RPG aspect will be heavily improved by more conversation choices, skill influences, perks, traits, karma vs. reputation, etc.
Those things will all be very much like in the original Fallouts.

Re: The Fallout 3 topic
not to be jadified, but I'll believe it when I see it. I really enjoyed FO3, but agree that the RPG elements were heavily downplayed. Having never played the originals, I suppose it's hard for me to truly appreciate what's missing, I suppose. *shrug*

Re: The Fallout 3 topic
All F3 DLC is new available on steam, at 10€/$ each. http://store.steampowered.com/search/?term=fallout+3Still too steep so I'm waiting for sale. When there is one, I'll gladly pay and replay F3 however. With the appropriate mods. Also, F3: New Vegas preview: http://play.tm/preview/31040/fallout-new-vegas/

Re: The Fallout 3 topic
I think I'm done with FO3. They took too long with getting all the mods put together and selling at a decent price. I've moved on now. their loss.

Re: The Fallout 3 topic
New Vegas is out in a few days in the US, and a few days later in Europe. But it's been surprisingly quiet around it lately. Let's hope it's not a bad sign, cause I'm kind of looking forward to it.

There have been quite many videos on Gametrailers lately. Check the link. http://www.gametrailers.com/game/fallou ... egas/11183Note that they are not sorted according to actual dates.
