Quick answer:

Tank: Dwarf with 23 consitution so far! Level 12
Conjurer: Can only conjure Monster Lvl III. So he sucks cos theres no spells.
Sorcerer: The charismatic leader with awesome fire skillz.
Illusionist: Deep gnome thats not very good due to lack of spells and -2 lvls compared to all others.
Evoker: Nuker.
Evoker: Drow nuker.

Going well. I just took out the first level of the bit with all the Hook Horror ambushes.

You need more melee skillz!! Way overloaded on the caster department is what I say. When I last went through IWD2 I had 2 casters and a cleric, other than that stocked up on melee. But I guess that shows my bias and general choice of character class.

I purposely went for a more magelike party this time round.

Its doable i think, but alot of resting awaits you.

Yes, resting is very much a big thing. With 5 spellcasters and 1 fighter it feels alot more tactical. Ambushes are even more of a pain in the butt, but all my casters have Mirror Image incase things get hairy.

lol, wasn't IWD2 minorly bugged when it comes to resting? could be wrong.

In any case, you should have said you were starting a new game, cos Weimer has a (great) ease-of-use mod that allows you to fix/adjust a few things without cheating or anything.

Let's see how you fare against the Guardian. Took me 10 tries last time, Peltz had even more trouble cos he had more casters.

lol...how exactly did you lame him? You could lame him in the unpatched version by using otiluke's resilient sphere to block him on the platform and have him attack the person inside the sphere while you pound him with spells and missile attacks.

The first 2 goes, i buffed up all my party and tried to take him with summons and spells, but that didnt work because he had good spell protection and anything fighting melee with him would go into "Fear".

So I just started thinking outside the box when i remembered my Dwarf was carrying an awesome amulet. I tried it out, and the Guardian was actually taking damage. So i used almost all of those 50 charges offscreen.

I remember doing a lot of searching on how to solve a similar problem, it might have been IWD2 that i was planning to play with my brother. Not sure though. I can say however that i never played it with him in MP.
