I have a couple of screenies for you.

The graphics aren't on max, that kills my PC. But I much prefer the charachter graphics to GW, but the scenery in GW looks nicer.
As to 11b's link to his post, I guess the reason they got so many people is they appeal to the masses. Including the moron's that come and post on forums I visit just to be assholes.
The research I did, showed to me that the community in EQ was better by report and the only thing that EQ 2 fell behind on was the amount of quests. There was apparently little to no customisation in WoW, to much ganking and to much getting to level 60 in the first week.
These put me off. I'm not saying that WoW isn't a great game. I am, however, Saying that WoW did not appeal to me as much as EQ did.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love it more if it wasn't SOE (I dislike sony) but I am enjoying this game immensly.

get to level 60 in the first week? I'd love to know how. I hate the way they handled experience in high level parties...if you're really low level and adventuring with high level people (ie, your friends), you get shit all for xp.

Most games are that way though. If they weren't it'd be like saying "hey, we want you to powerlevel"

Really? These are pictures from a guy in my guild that had at the time a ATI 9800 PRO. He ran his Eq2 at max and Gw at max. Which character looks better? EQ2? http://imperialdeathsquad.com/ids/eq2/EQ2_000022.jpgor GW? http://imperialdeathsquad.com/ids/gw/Dr ... 20Full.jpg
The eq2 community might appear better cause it not even half the size of wow and the people that play eq2 or for the majority Roleplayers.
As far as customisation, I dont know who told you that but they are wrong. Does eq2 allow you to add custom UI mods? wow does. There are tons of Wow UI mods out there. I heard the same song and dance about wow ganking. Ganking doesnt happen anymore BECAUSE of the honor system and you only get ganked if your in a contested area. And if your in a contested area you know your in a contested area. I would also like to know how someone gets to level 60 in a week. Maybe in a week when they type /played in game but not in a literal "week".
All false statements someone has told you. Trust my words when I say EQ2 will get boring.

EQ graphics suck, yes, but then its not instances like GW, its an actual MMO. I.e. it has crafting and stuff, not just "me run round hitting stuff" (dont get me wrong, i prefer GW lol). So far the community in EQ2 is far superior to gw; sure over main chat you get the odd people arguing but they argue together, not just randomly shouting at people to "omfg stfu u fukin n00b" like guild wars.
like mole says, it was a toss up between eq and wow, and im very glad it was eq! hehe. From what i've heard, both through hearsay and through people who actually play WoW, I'll never touch that game with a bargepole. I'm sure the game itself is wonderful, but the community and some of the, er... systems they have are a pile of shit, like the honour system. But then thats blizzard. They make awesome games but the communities that are attracted to them are horrible. Just look at the people left on Diablo 2. Hackers and cheaters for the most part. And those who don't hack are abusive. Ugh.
er anyway its a nice game. So far, no stupid escort quests, and although the quests are kinda all the same (go kill x amount of x creature, take these supplies to so and so) its pretty fun. And unlike UO, where horses cost 500 gold and you start with 1000 gold, the cheapest horse costs over 2 platinum... consider that for 5 days I've been doing every quest possible, killing enough to reach level 17, and only have just under 5 gold (100 gold to 1 plat), its far more of a status symbol to have a horse, so I'm really looking forward to getting one

A word about GW graphics. Although they are definately pretty, they are a bit girly too.

I'm refering to Characther customisation.
In EQ 2, you can change the UI "officialy" with size, transparency, locking windows in palace, etc. And ofcourse you can mod the daylights out of it
And as to the GW/EQ charachter, which charachter model has real time lighting and shadows? Better textured armour? Real customising? (The main reason I prefer it)
Don't get me wrong, GW graphics are great! I just prefer the way the EQ 2 charachter models look "in action" such as fighting, running past a light, being run past by some one with a light, going by multiple light scources and the general texture of the armour

You can do the same thing in WOW. Who ever told you differently is a liar.

What's up with the quote thing?
And no one told me any differently, you asked if you could do it in everquest and I answered your question.
Check out my attatchment. Sure, the char doesn't look as "pretty" but the I prefer the fact it is lit correctly.
It's like the first splinter cell - because the lighting is amazing, it still looks freakin' sexy even when compared to todays standards. Despite the fact, most of the game is pitch black!

Must admit, the lighting and shadows does look quite good on that one. The textures and polygons are shot to shit though.

Hehe, pevil is being ganked by about 7-8 level 18 Highway men...
And yeah. I want to put it to max, but I don't think my PC will come out of it alive.
With environmental shadows switched on too, it looks very sexy, but that seems to be the most killer setting on the game. Buildings, items and other structures have the real time shadows too.
