your opinion
well, i'm that bored with my collection at the moment that i've actually stuck IWD2 back on the HD. i never got that far into it last time, so any party tips are welcome.
one question though, a full party of 6 or about 4 to level quicker?

I remember some quite massive fights, were i would have to split up my group in 3 .. so i'd go for 6 (you'd also have a more versatile group).
And you'll probably find so many cool weapons/equipment that you can't equip with a party of 6, so a party of 4 would be even more frustrating

human scorceror

Right, 3th edition rules, i'm not into this thing anymore.
These games (IWD, BG) always have a super-duper weapon for Paladins, perhaps you want a pally?
I barely remember the skills/abilities thingie anymore, make sure you have enough people that can get skills like persuasion, bluff and such (i remember my cleric being good in that, talking her way out of situations, or tricking people into things)

I'd say a bard or a paladin, with high Cha for whoever you choose. Like J said, having a good party leader can be very important in IWD2. Of course, it wasn't for me but my roleplaying was, erh, limited. (RAAAAAGH DIIEEEE and such)
You will be naming the dwarf Rinox, right? If not, get out of my sight! IWD2 is good fun, you won't be disappointed. Some tough fights, and yeah, there's an uber-paladin weapon again.
Bt, you might want to switch the fighter for a monk. They are TOTALLY uber on high levels. They barely get hit and stuff.
P.S. get on the forums more BJ!!

heh, the dwarven barb is ALWAYS called rinox, how could it be any other way? you set the standards
went with a druid in the end, hopefully i made the right choice. nice suggestion about the paladin guys but they make me vomit
(often about bud but just don't post that often. don't get the time to read most of the threads so i don't bother posting. )

lol, glad to see the baby is being so eagerly expected...train this one up to a world-class gamer man!! It's a shot at greatness.
As for otiluke's...yeah, it still works. I think they tweaked the AI after the patch tho!

lol, will do.
is there any way to cut out all the slowdowns? its driving me nuts practically every battle is in slow motion. having to play at an un-supported resolution because 800 x 600 looks terrible on my monitor. anyone got any ideas? screens native res is 1280 x 1024 by the way.

Try downloading windows compatibility manager. Run it, create a new database, guess work from there. Try see if theres a fix for this doing it this way by googling.
Maybe "emulateSlowCPU" will suffice?
Je ne sais pas.

nah, cant be bothered now, i tried playing it at 800 x 600 and it was fucking horrible, screen didn't like it very much
its put me off now, which is a shame because i was really getting into it, good game, shame about the issues. the slowdowns are unforgivable in my book.
bah..i'm off to play the nwn premium modules and wait for fm2006

too bad man...but on the bright side, you've given me a interest to play IWD II myself again. We'll see if I actually end up doing so.
