lol..damn right it is. Firkraag is my bitch.  I kinda used an exploit to kill the draco-lich in the underdark btw..tho it's not a real exploit. I time-stopped with hasted Edwin, shapechanged to mind flayer and sucked its brain out during the time stop. Sucker. 
Most bosses in the game are protected from the mind flayer's brain sucking ability, but not those designed by the TDD team.

You mean the hole in the statue which you can`t select because your cursor only allows you to speak with the statue?
I believe (not sure, think i read it somewhere) that for the ranger quest something is put in there. SO if you get there on your rangerquest, you will be able to empty it. Dunno what`s inside though.

I never noticed that, maybe you can click on it when you've finished talking to the statue?

Nope don`t think so, i believe you get a "the ritual is over" message in that case. I know i`ve been trying a bit but it seemed hopeless.

you can acces the container without speaking to the statue, iirc. It just is a matter of being VERY precise. And, again iirc, the container is only holding a gem or something like that, nothing special. Been too long since I played through BG.
