On the dodgey camera whilst using a mouse to move, i over came this very easily.
I use my keyboard (a,s,w,d or the arrow keys) to move in gerneral, then use my mouse for tactical manouvers, for instance, I already am facing the enemy, but my view is blocked, or i'm at the bottom of a hill instead of the top, I can just click, and My char will move where I want him/her to go, without the camera changing direction.
My mouse is my "close quaters" movement. (although, I often use it to pathfind my way to areas, or accross large distances)
Oh, and the double tap up feature (to autorun) also saves a lot of finger ache.

Yeah, they've done a beta weekened event each weekend or so over the past few months, the last one was a while back, which me and pevil were in.

lol hmmm lets see:
- amazing scenery and atmosphere
- level cap of 20 means you have to use skill, not muscle to win
- geared towards party play so you have to use tactics and talk to each other
- PvP is all in arenas so there are no 9 year old tossers surrounding you with 29 of their friends anymore
- no 'shards' so you can literally play with EVERYONE who owns this game
- no monthly fees
- expansions planned every 6 months that will be the same size as the original game but are not needed to keep playing the 'old' world
- Story and side missions so lots to do
- 6 Professions each with about 75 - 80 skills each, plus your character can have 2 professions at once = a lot of character diversity
- its downright fucking awesome
- me and mole are on it (the best reason)
oh and though level 20 sounds low, its great coz all the gameplay really kicks in when you reach that, and it doesnt take long; about 30 hours of gameplay is all it takes. They did this so that powergamers won't be ruling the roost for months before everyone else catches up, and this means that in PvP there will be more balance and so more need for skills.
I didnt think the game could pull it off so that skill > level but yep, they did it. If you're good enough, a level 5 could happily thrash a level 15 in this game.

Sounds interesting, is it digitally available? It'll take months before it gets here otherwise.

GW got a good review from my gaming mag (87%), so I'm not completely dismissing a chance of me ever playing it. Btw, why do some ppl here say that it's graphics aren't all that? It scored a 18/20 on gfx in the review, got good commentary on it besides that and the screens looked great. Don't tell me you're running it at a 300x200 res.

About Graphics:
It Really depends what you compare to it. SP games tend to have better graphs usually while MP Games tend to go for better performance. And I agree the screens look awesome, and the trailers are nice also.
On a second note, the person complaining might've been using a large LCD monitor, say 19", but was using low res and as you know LCDs should be run on max res for best quality, lower res tends to distort pixels (or what ever the expression is).
Imo there can be lots of reasons for it. If possible can you share more info on the commenter.
Im defenatly gonna try it. Got bored of WoW already, reached lvl50 and after that *yawn*.

i believe you can download it, though you'll miss out on the cool manuals Check out www.guildwars.com, there's bound to be a link somewhere
btw check out http://www.pevilsplace.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=52 to see screenshots; all taken at 1024 x 768 on max settings (without anti-aliasing coz that buggers you up with some serious lag ) and the game runs fine for me
