Anyone used it yet?

For lack of a proper screen I've been using my TV to play some games on (either through my laptop or my recently transferred PC) with the help of an HDMI cable and a controller, and it works beautifully for some games. Big Picture Mode is easy to navigate, fast and efficient (for a controller-directed program anyway). It stands as a lesson for Microsoft and Sony in user friendliness as far as I'm concerned.

Some games just work better on a big screen with a controller...a lot of the more blatant ports from consoles (Arkham Asylum, GTA, LA Noire, etc) play a lot better that way. Obviously for shooters, strategy and most else still use mouse + keyboard and my proper laptop/PC screen.

If you have your devices hooked up at home, give it a shot. It's pretty great.

I plan on buying a Razer Edge, which will be definitely using big picture mode. I'm looking forward to trying it out, but so far have no need, since I do all my current gaming on my desktop.

Yeah I can see it working well with a Razer Edge. I think the HDMI cable from the device to the TV may prove to be annoying though. Although I guess there's really not much point in swinging the Edge around when you're playing on the big screen, so maybe not.

They should come up with a fast and reliable wireless (local) transfer of video. No more cables! Use video output on any screen in your home! I'm sure it already exists but comes with some serious drawbacks or prohibitive cost.

Figured it existed already. Strange that it seems to be so obscure for now... (as in, I have never seen this being marketed or used by anyone ever before today)
