It's not. If you like pretty graphics, it may be, but it's really short, and experienced gamer like you would be tru it in 4 work (!)days. ![]() And even if you like graphics, HL2 is gonna blow everything to pieces in a few months, so i strongly advice against it. sorry. ![]() That Pc magazine was prolly in a deal with the Unreal2 producers, soemthing like "if i give you a premiere/exclusive, you must give it at least this score or recommend it". Lot of that going on these days; only trust independent magazines. Sure, they get some review copies later than others because they refuse to have the producers influence their rating, but at least you know what you're getting. Also, some magazines review beta's of games sent to them, which obviously should be hnadled in a PREview. Damn game magazines. Blah, sorry. ![]() |

I agree with Ox. I played some of it...typical repetitive FPS drivel. Graphics are nice, but everything else is the same, boring crap. Shitty enemy AI (at least for the parts I played), weapons are the usual clones, etc etc. Save your money. |

yeah, kinda guessed that it was blarney. ![]() half life 2 and doom 3 are really going to be something, it's the required spec that bugs me, i don't think a 1.5 gig, 512 ram, geforce 4 ti-4200 will even be enough, probably lag like hell. ![]() |

I don't know about HL2, but DoomIII should run on it ok. It was originally designed to run at 30fps on a GeForce3 with what was the PC at the time...probably around a 1ghz or so. I forget. So you should be able to push it, though not at high resolutions, I'm sure. Did you ever see the leaked beta demo? |

not anymore. It floated around newsgroups for awhile. Also some P2P, not sure if it's there anymore. I, of course, would caution against that, since it's kinda illegal. John Carmack was pissed about the leak...he even posted on slashdot when some people were questioning whether the leak was intentional or not. ![]() Just FYI, it runs like ass (or so I've heard, cough). I mean, it's like alpha or pre-alpha stuff...totally not optimized. Looks damned good, though. |

Yep, i heard about it too, it's an alpha designed to run on high-end machines, i've heard of ppl with a failry monsterous pc that had still crappy FPS, so you can iamgine. I bet it's still around somewhere tho, but ofcourse, i wouldn't know where. ![]() |

lol ox as if you could do anything with it (referring to crappy pc ![]() so you serieusly can`t play lionheart or what? let me ask a stupid question: where can i see my computer specs? and what 3D card i have? (i know i know i don`t know jack about computers) And i still prefer a good game with average grafics over a game with magnific grafics but average gameplay. |
