Fear was ok, coulda been more scary later on. The cool thing that happens at the end is cool, but I can't say what cuz it'll spoil it. |

yea, the very end was really cool. It seriously improved my opinion of the game. The whole last level was fairly well done, but the dream sequences, the outside right at the end, and the end cutscene were done really well. |

Hehe...btw, another minor beef with FEAR (and most shooters) is the abundance of weaponry, medpacks, boosters and whatnot in every possible place. I mean, I know the US is pretty loose on fire arms, but I'm pretty sure they don't have an abundance on assault rifles, handguns and whatnot lying around in every office in a research facility. I'm waiting for a horror shooter that has a 'logical' solution to these problems, or is sparse on ammo. The best ones I ever played were like that...Monolith (fear developers) are working on another 'horror' game with this idea, I heard. I'll see if I can find the title. I don't care if they solve it with 'magic' (if it fits the storyline), but just to have the spread of material make a little sense....in Vampire: Bloodlines, you could use fire arms, but ammo was either in logical places or bought in stores...not in baby's cradles and kitchen sinks. |

What difficulty level are you on? |

Average...like every game at the first spin. Why? |

Just wondered really because I found more than enough ammo, that's true, but I didn't think it was that common. I found my self runnin' on empty a few times. But maybe that's just A. My bad planning or B. I'm trigger happy. Though I didn't think that I was. Anyway, Health, is what there was to much off. And I was on the same difficulty as you. |

I played on normal. Occasionally I ran into ammo shortages, but not often. The first few levels are significantly easier than later levels, though. I'm glad I didn't jack it up to a higher difficulty setting. Some of those areas got ungodly. |

I actually never had a lot of trouble...ok, once or twice. But I never felt like it was gonna be really hard; more like "ok, next time I focus a little and it'll be fine". But the level still is way above that of an average shooter...without the slowmo, it's insane even. Those ATC guys mean business, and have superb aim. As for the ammo thing...I relied on my shotgun for about 90% of the game; which might explain why I never had a shortage. (together with basic machine gun by far most ammo you find is shotgun) Shotgun for the win. 12-clip, surprisingly good range, devastating from up close up and realtively decent ROF (for a shotgun..). I think I killed the large majority of human opponents with one shot...with the slowmo, getting up close is a lifesaver rather than suicide. (as it is in most games) |
