Damn. Tnx for putting that great link on here. That's very freaky indeed...I'd like to find out one day too, how it is to walk around in a ghost city like that...the silence must be solid. In a nature area you don't hear "civilized" sounds, but you do hear animals and trees cracking etc., in a dead town like that there's only the wind and a few trees.  Kinda got quiet of that, very cool.

ok couldn't be bothered reading but carrying on from ox's post, back in 98 me and my parents went to france and visited this town the germans completely wiped out in WW2. Even with all the 'tourists' around and guides, just because every single building is in rubble, the whole place seems weirdly quiet and just...dead. have to find out from my parents what it was called now... |

crappy. Looks like the page got taken down. Granted, it was on Angelfire and originally posted on Slashdot. It may be back in a couple days. I'll see if I can find a mirror. ok, looks like angelfire does a monthly bandwidth thing... site won't be back till next month. However, some kind soul was kind enough to zip up the whole website.
