I'm the owner, and I'm in Texas. So, though we may be outnumbered by the Euros, it doesn't matter, because I run this place. hehe. Shiny is my g/f and here as well... then there's a few more that pop in occasionally (like Pig).

I don't get how we belgians always manage to piss of the americans. Recently our minister of defence (Flahaut) stated in an interview with Humo, a dutch weekly magazine, that if he was an american, he would vote for a democratic candidate. Now the americans (or prolly only the republicans) are pissed off.
I don't even get it, who in america reads HUMO anyways. And why can't this man say "i would vote for this or that party", it's only his opinion, doesn't everybody has a right for an opinion? Of course, in his function, he must be carefull with what he says, but i didn't feel this was over the line.
Oh they were pissed off as well because he said that the american army was not efficient. Dunno exactly what he said anymore, but it was something like "if we need to get some soldiers in place x, we cooperate with the german or french or idunnowhichcountry army. And if the americans need to get some 3 jeeps there, they fly it over in 3 seperate plains." It's not exactly what he said, but you get what he meant.

I remember that when Bush was elected instead of Gore most European leaders openly said that they would have preferred Gore, and i never heard of any Americans complaining about that.

I have no clue who HUMO is, nor do I give a damn what his personal opinions are. Nor do I know anyone whatsoever who's pissed at him for saying that. Maybe your press is as biased and idiotic as our own?

Texas rules all.
