By things I got from this forum (I never had time
to search your own site) I can conclude you're
one 3D artist or similar or more in 3D world.

I hope you remember my story of all-seeing eye
(FOV=360deg), yes?

That thing was (and it is and it will be) my
obsession for last 1.5 years but, it seems others
are not much interested in experimenting with such
a things.

So, I must ask you: didn't you feel challenged
against ability to render pure (not deformed as
it seems at first info) scenes with FOV=360deg?
What you think about that at all?

I don't think I understand what you mean by a 360 degree rendering. I mean, most (if not all) of my 3d programs allow rendering of a 360 degree panorama. Of course, either that ends up with a twisted, distorted but regular-size picture, or a really long one.

If you mean more along the lines of virtual reality, I very much like VR. I don't know much about it, though... I can create 3d scenes and whatnot, but not real virtual reality.

Now I don't understand what you talking about.
Can you post some idle screenie?

I think GFree is trying to describe an application that creates just a normal, front and human like view of a 3D image.

Whereas i think Satis is trying to describe an application that scans a room/place at a 360degs and then makes one long but short image of the horizontal scan.

ah, ok. I haven't gotten around to doing this yet. No time. Please remind me if I forget... I'll do a 3d render of what I'm talking about.

Sorry, Satis. Never meant to ruin your personal
peace. I (earlier) got you are bussy with some
job(s) that are not so fun for your taste. I'll
post some screenies when do birocraty jobs about
writting documentation and registering product
in Government district (It would be cheaper than
5000gp  ). Then I would cast it out freely.

Ok this is what I meant by fov:360x90. If you wanna
more screenies or to show what you have about this
matter, feel free to post it here.

Directory with samples.

Satis, you said me to remind you to render something
with fov:360 in your rendering software and whatever
it is. Have you time now?

unlikely, the bastard still hasnt done the quick reply thing yet. Ill have to book you in for 15th June 2012. Is that ok?

nope, haven't done it, though I did play with it.

I'm not sure if I can do it in Cinema4d. Been so long isnce I touched that one I don't know if I remember how to use it.

Bryce, it can't be done directly. However, I can set the FOV to 180, then do two renders opposite one another and stitch the two images together in a paint program. Same effect, I think.

Post subject:

ok, I lied, Bryce does allow you to do it directly. As proof, I'm uploading a render. I scattered objects all around the camera and did a 360 degree panoramic render.

I'm also adding a link to a quicktime VR rendering I did of the same scene. It's about 1MB and you have to have quicktime installed to view it, but it'll let you move the camera around so you can see the limitations of the render. There is a little bit of area straight down and straight up that's not seeable, but it's a pretty small area.

This image say it exist but hardly give some clue how it works.

Can you render in wireframe with camera inside of hi-polygon Box and hi-polygon Sphere, plese?

I'm sorry, I can't. I tried, and I can 'sorta' get a wireframe, but it doesn't work right. Also, there's so little wire in it that it's basically worthless.

Then, can you tell me how goes real time rendering there? I mean: like in games.

Post subject:

err, I have no idea what you're talking about, sorry.

As far as the 360 degree panorama thing, I could render a movie out of it. Of course, it'll be huge, and I know your bandwidth/storage constraints.

How much time you need to generate one frame ... or maybe: how much frames you can generate per second -

- if you render scene with approx. 1800 polygones, without antialiasing and vertical sync (if use OpenGL); by using lightmapping and up to ~30MB textures?
