His Royal Bobness
I don't usually do this (starting new topics, and certainly not bout my RL) but I just got back from seeing Bob Dylan Live (in Brussels) and I just have to cry out how unbelievably good he was. I saw him at the same venue two years ago, and he already blew my mind then, but yesterday night was simply sensational. He just recreates every song he plays every time he plays it. And of course he surrounds himself with the best musicians available (only have to think about the Demi-God like Knopfler) The guy is over sixty and still brings so much gusto and... well, simply ROCK to this poor Britney-infested world.
Highlights were sensational versions of Visions of Johanna, She once was a true lov of mine, Highway 61 revisited and the closing song was a version of All along the watchtower that Hendrix would have found difficult to better.
All in all, His royal Bobness, Emperor of the Nasalites, god of the weirdos rocks on. And how.
PS Please feel free to turn this into a musicthingy, no spam about menages a troi.

You don't know Bob Dylan?
He's been a major figure in rock since, what, the 60s or something? Some great songs, even though his singing voice sounds like he's permenantly on ludes.
I don't like much of his music, but you can't help but respect this guy.

I don't care for Bob Dylan... AT ALL. His best songs are still better sung by someone else. He has contributed a lot, and is one the most famous rock icons. Maybe not as popular as the Beatles, but nearly as well known.

There is no god, only Satis.
And Bob Dole would probably claim the invention of google.

Yeah well you can fill in that 'god' part how you want, if you wanna fill in satis go ahead ..
Somebody here should really come down to earth though, or maybe shiny should talk some sense in him. Oh wait .. shiny & sense in 1 sentence and no sign of negation. I should go back to bed. I'm talking crazy.

I thought mole was more of a god-boy. or was it someone else? but not me in the least.
calling me god-boy is like giving george w. bush the nobelprice for peace or something.

Hehe...i think Derf was referring to Satis as the God-boy.
I personally rate Mark Knopfler over Bob Dylan in terms of musicianship. Dylan may have had a bigger influence on the entire scene but i'm sticking with Knopfler.
But glad you liked the concert Lac...Satis knows them tickets cost heaps of cash.
P.S. Initially, i thought "His Royal Bobness" was yet ANOTHER reference to Arathorn's bulge.

Yawns... J... you would pick on me why? Hmm feeling threatened? Really, give me an instance where I do not make sense? Irrational maybe.... but not making sense? Are you having language difficulties? Or do you truely not understand the meaning of the word? Simply because one does not have the opinions of the masses, which are dumb, does not mean they do not make sense.

lol cool.
Not really heard much of Bob Dylans stuff, though I at least know who he is but when we were fund raising for our school trip to America, we spent 2 years raising funds and Julie Felix came to perform at our school twice, and she sings lots of his songs I believe. She rules

Shiny, I just don`t think that you`re really the woman to talk the idea `Satis is God` out of satis his head.
And language difficulties? The only english i use is right here on these forums, haven`t had any english course for over 6 years. So there might be some misunderstandings due to my lesser knowledge of english language. Hopefully we can just put this little slip of tongue behind us and move on on a friendly base, wouldn`t want a gun-carrying texan girl as an enemy.
Yours sincerely, J
